    Pros

Smart people, very busy, lots of opportunity for pro bono, CLEs and community involvement. Always good to work with those who are recognized as the best and the brightest in their specialties.

    Cons

Team spirit is lacking within the peer level ; the same dedicated crew carries the same slackers on every project team. This seems to unnoticed.

Nice place to work -- when there is work

Jan 16, 2014 - Staff Attorney in Chicago, IL
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Friendly staff, easy access free CLE training, sincere commitment to pro bono work

    Cons

During periods when there is not much work, the partners become much more surly and other amenities disappear -- for instance, the firm used to provide donuts on the weekends for those of us working then. The firm no longer does that. The firm used to provide dinner service for those of working late. The firm no longer does that. When the firm is busy, all staff is treated as though they are important. When things are slow, staff is not treated well.

    Pros

Strong pro bono leadership, great pay, great prestige

    Cons

New leadership is trying to grow too fast and become national, younger attorneys get lost in the shuffle, not enough mentorship
