I have been working at Jensen Precast full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Benefits are okay.
    Relaxed dress code.
A majority of people are cool to work with.

    Cons

"Cardinal Rule of Conduct" is posted on the walls are a joke.
Founder's kids run the company and take *cough* advice from council.
Corporate officers cleaning house and removing people who don't agree with their new vision.
You never know who's going to be fired or who has quit when you come in the next day.
Clicky atmosphere and no communication between departments or locations.
A select few are "leading" while the rest of management keeps their head low and agrees with whatever they say for fear of losing their job.
A majority of managers are lame duck, "yes man", let me get my paycheck and go home shells of who they should be.
Employee separations are handled poorly with "Danger" posters hung in office and no explanation of why.
Reviews are never timely if at all. Raises are not competitive to keep pace with the industry.

    Pros

Starting compensation decent, good benefits. Related place to work.

    Cons

Do not get pay raises, lack of training, company wide unorganized departments, executive management lacks leadership and appears unqualified for their position, not focused. 'New branding'/company departments have an all around disorganized component about them, not set up for success.

    Pros

Friendly work environment, with a laid back attitude. Business casual dress code is allowed. Great open door policy with management. All upper management/executives are happy to talk with you at anytime, and never make you feel like you are below them.

    Cons

Parking is scarce and right but street parking is available as an alternative. Interaction with some branches throughout the U.S. is not as often as it could be.

    Advice to Management

Continue making the staff feel welcomed each and every day. Maybe open or remind emloyees of how they can give suggestions, or even file an anonymous complaint.

    Pros

    Benefits were good pay resonable.

    Cons

    Just the Facts!!

It's very odd that this company’s corporate upper level management would hire new management (for the Phoenix office) from a plant that was bought out by Jensen in 2012. Now that company's splinter company is buying it's custom precast product form the competition.

The new management is so bad, that two of the upper level employees have moved on to other employment. Mostly due to the new management converting back to the dark ages of how to develop the proper paper work to produce product. It's the new management 's way or the highway. The resulting strong arm office tactics are responsible for the remaining employees to question why they are there at all, Consensus is that the new management is not smart enough to see it! This is running the Phoenix plant out of the market, into the ground, and out of business.

HMM! Unless this is what the corporate office wanted all along?

The corporate upper level management should have retired the new management when they had a chance.

Customers in Jensen's market consider the competition's product as better quality and less priced.

As for the Phoenix office, It seems to be circling the drain.

    Advice to Management

Clean house before it's too late!!

    Cons

Salaries are not competitive with the rest of the market so there is a very high turn over rate

I have been working at Jensen Precast full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Relaxed dress code. Benefits have reduced but remain competitive. Works with employee to allow desired vacation time but shouldn't take more than one week at a time.

    Cons

Cardinal Rule of Conduct posted on the walls has become a complete joke. Hostile work environment. Steep with nepotism. CEO adult kids run the company. Corporate officers fight amongst each other and express it to even mid level workers. Clicks! You will be the weak link if you do not fall in the favored pool. Expect no support. Closed door secret meetings are the norm.

    Advice to Management

The founder treated people with respect and often stated the people were the companies best asset. Return to his values. Consider promoting employee's that have worked for the company for a long period of time. Improve the low morale that is prevalent in the organization..

I have been working at Jensen Precast full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Incredibly challenging company to work for, a company that has high expectations for their staff generates high performers. Not for the faint of heart or for slackers. Very safety focused and is constantly seeking out improvements across the board. Lots of work and very good benefits compared to most other companies.

    Cons

Sometimes it can be too demanding, the hours can become too much, and the stress can be overwhelming. The company has you fill many roles, primarily to their own benefit, you can find yourself overwhelmed with tasks and responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Find a balance, give employees chances to succeed, dont bad mouth lower level staff, build them up and make them the best.
