I worked at Jeppesen full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Health and Dental Benefits
    Under Boeing umbrella
    Great co-workers
    Employee appreciation lunch
    Cafeteria in main Denver office
    Working with aviation enthusiasts

    Cons

No room for growth! Management could careless to help you move on. You will be stuck in your current position for a long time.Pay is pretty low for any job you do at this company. Once a year management "cleans house" (layoffs) and then hires the next month for the same position without explanation. Too many changes going on with this company. A lot of turn over as well. Definitely do your research before working here! Also, not enough parking spaces at Denver office. Most employees have to park offsite and are bused to work.

    Advice to Management

Help employees with career growth! Listen to your employees concerns about pay structure.

I worked at Jeppesen full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great work-life balance and good benefits.

    Cons

Managers are clueless and don't listen. Technology is outdated and the company in general is slow to respond to changes in the market and technology. They are behind the curve.

    Advice to Management

Stop building kingdoms and listen to the folks who actually do the work. Spend more time managing downstream and less time sucking up to upper management. Reward those who are doing excellent work and not those who do nothing but suck up.

    Pros

Good pay and flexibility on schedule. My immediate management is very competent and knowledgeable. I love the work I do at Jeppesen and proud of the fine products offered to fellow pilots.

    Cons

Obvious distinction on contractors and "real employees" by the company. No clear path to becoming permanent despite over performing on department goals while being severally understaffed. Have seen several people with less experience hired off the street into permanent positions in the same department. Contrators are now going to have to park offsite to make room for "real employees"

    Advice to Management

Stop treating people like a number on a spreadsheet and give opportunities to people who want to make a career at Jeppesen. You are about to lose a contractor who loves working here despite the cons.

I have been working at Jeppesen full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has a fantastic and valued heritage
Benefits as very good through Boeing parent company
You can't help but feel you are part of something big being part of Boeing

    Cons

Managers are continually hired from inside the company based on seniority and not on actual qualifications for the position.
Since they keep hiring from internal resources no need ideas ever come in.
Managers say they are open to new ideas but it rarely goes anywhere.
Compensation is OK but probably a bit behind

    Advice to Management

Come up with true change and not figurative change
Hire in new external people for management positions

I worked at Jeppesen as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great work-life balance.
Great Opportunities if you know the right individuals and go with the flow.

    Cons

New ideas for improvement are shunned upon.
It's a "you have to know your place mentality", company is not focused on talent, they are more focused on years of experience than future leadership and ideas.

    Advice to Management

Hire people that will contribute and will always bring new ideas to the table, do not think that years of experience indicate talent, worth, or ability!

    I worked at Jeppesen full-time

    Pros

    Denver is a nice place

    Cons

I really don't know what to say, it's a very peculiar culture. It's like they are "playing corporate". The senior people love the standard corporate jargon that everyone makes fun of. The problem is, none of it makes sense, it's like people just using the words because that's what you're suppose to do in a corporate environment. I suppose this is what happens when a company really has no competition. The lower levels of managers are very political and are more interested in building empires than anything else...they seem to have little, if any, accountability.

    Advice to Management

Cut the corporate BS and start leading in a common sense

    Pros

Good company to work for, good benefits. hey seem to care about the employees and try to have fun.

    Cons

Middle management is very reactive and generally doesn't have a plan except for what their boss tells them to do. Lack of back bone in some areas. Don't really listen to the their directo reports very well either. Or share information.

    Advice to Management

    Walk the talk.
