    Cons

Senior Management (directors and above) cannot make decisions. They fail to do 360 reviews of poor directors, senior managers, and managers. Unable to get out of the way to enable innovation.

    Advice to Management

Do 360 reviews of managers and ACT on the information.

I worked at Jeppesen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overall it's a good company. Individuals must be pro-active in training themselves with technology because they are just figuring out how to do things. Good cafeteria. Expect to get lost in your work, but unless you say pretend to spend a lot of time at it, don't expect a good review.

    Cons

Management is not aligned well with it's members and communication can sometimes be a barrier depending on how the team is organized.

    Advice to Management

The hard work of transparency is necessary to keep positive velocity.

    Pros

Decent work-life balance and nice facility (although enough parking would help)

    Cons

Where to start. Boeing has descended on Jeppesen like a plague. All management positions are now going to Boeing people (some good, some really bad), Boeing culture has replaced what was a fun place to work with arrogance and an inability to recognize the intellectual capital they have in the people at Jepp. And now we get screwed on compensation, massive layoffs are coming, and the entire environment just sucks. There will be a lot of smart, capable people leaving to flee what Boeing has brought -- all because Boeing wants to squeeze cash out of the operation to cover it's crappy airplane programs. Jeppesen has never failed to be profitable, but it's never enough for Boeing. Boeing just sees Jeppesen people as "cogs in the machine". Boeing has no idea that it's approach to Jeppesen will fail miserably -- the intellectual capital can walk out and set up shop somewhere else, whereas people who build airplanes don't have as many options. So Boeing might treat it's employees like they are nothing special, but they will pay a price for how they are "assimilating" Jeppesen.

    Advice to Management

None -- this management team aims to rip the heart out of Jeppesen and replace it with Boeing's Blue Ice. The only advice is to just be aware, you will reap what you sow.

    Pros

There really weren't many pro's to this job for me.

    Cons

    Treated like a slave
Forced to work overtime even though I accepted a positon for 40hrs/week knowing that was all my back could handle for sitting in one day and if we did not work the mandatory 50hrs/week we would have been terminated.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees like people.

I have been working at Jeppesen full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company has a fantastic and valued heritage
Benefits as very good through Boeing parent company
You can't help but feel you are part of something big being part of Boeing

    Cons

Managers are continually hired from inside the company based on seniority and not on actual qualifications for the position.
Since they keep hiring from internal resources no need ideas ever come in.
Managers say they are open to new ideas but it rarely goes anywhere.
Compensation is OK but probably a bit behind

    Advice to Management

Come up with true change and not figurative change
Hire in new external people for management positions

    I worked at Jeppesen full-time

    Pros

    Denver is a nice place

    Cons

I really don't know what to say, it's a very peculiar culture. It's like they are "playing corporate". The senior people love the standard corporate jargon that everyone makes fun of. The problem is, none of it makes sense, it's like people just using the words because that's what you're suppose to do in a corporate environment. I suppose this is what happens when a company really has no competition. The lower levels of managers are very political and are more interested in building empires than anything else...they seem to have little, if any, accountability.

    Advice to Management

Cut the corporate BS and start leading in a common sense
