    Great People and Management

    Pros

I loved working at Jerry's. The staff is made up of diverse and unique people who are great to work with. Same with the management; they possessed a balance of fun and professionalism. Pretty typical sales job. You help customers, make transactions, stock inventory, etc.

    Cons

Have to be on your feet a lot, no chance for sitting aside from your break.

    Pros

    - decently flexible schedule. majority of staff is part time. - almost all coworkers are wonderful. they're the reason I stayed at this job for “so long”. I hang out with my staff friends a lot out side of work. - consistent customers are almost always a pleasure.

    Cons

    - staff is inconsistent with dress code. major issue here. - over 2/3s of the staff are young girls and it’s very odd. - when dealing with bad customers (i’ve had to deal with many) management told us we’re allowed to tell them to leave but they never do and can be very disrespectful. - the people training you have are most likely recent hires and don’t know what to do either.

    So much potential

    Pros

Decent pay, decent store discount, free damaged out products, so much potential for it to be a really nice gig.

    Cons

Just about everything was a con about working here, awful management. There are so many managers no one knows what their job is. I knew coworkers who didn't know how much they were getting paid until one of their coworkers told them weeks after starting, no one hands out checks, they just sit in the safe until you ask for them, but you were never told to ask for them. Most days I left work crying and cried during my lunch break. The disrespect and manipulation is completely disgusting at this location. It seems there are a couple managers who have such a power complex over the associates it truly is disgusting. I had many instances of harassment from customers and their only response was to 'go hide in the back'. No support for employees, in fact, there are several instances where one of the managers has complete meltdowns and screams at 'lucky' employees every couple months saying things such as "you're not better than everyone else" or "you have such a bad personality", then minutes later trying to make it up to you, blaming it on being in a 'bad mood' or due to them switching their medication. Completely unacceptable for it to happen once, but I learned after I left that this was a reoccurring thing. I was very thankful for the opportunity during rough times, this place kept a roof over my head for as long as I could tolerate the abuse, harassment, and manipulation. My best advice would be not to work here until the management gets changed. This place was a truly awful experience from the start, I thought it would get better, it got worse.

    Owners need to move on

    Pros

Everyone smokes weed! Also drinking on the job is allowed

    Cons

I find the major problem here is that the owners Ira and David are very toxic, racist, sexist. It rubs off on most that work here, so the work environment can be a bit volatile. The owners also cant or dont know how to behave like normal human beings as they were coddled and spoiled all through life, then handed this company which makes them think they are better than everyone (and they will say it to your face). They had nothing to do with the success of the company, as their father was the one who started Jerry's Artarama. HR just listens to the owners, so there's no real point to having it (besides the owners wanting a young woman they can force to come on lunch dates and pretend she is their girlfriend) and it wont fix any issues that arise. Nothing will change unless they do, and issues plaguing the company only get worse in this type of environment. They are very much in the past, always talking about how they wish things were how they used to be, which is no way to grow as an individual or company. It starts out seeming like it could be a fun job, but then you start to realize how miserable most people are here and they will latch on to you making it hard to work.

    Behind the times... Toxic environment.

    Pros

Hard to get fired, some people come in and work on their personal Etsy sites.

    Cons

No raises, no room for growth. You will be hired for your experience and skills, then continually be questioned, ridiculed and insulted for having a say in anything. Just for them to turn around 2 hours later and tell you how much they loved your ideas. Hard to get ANYTHING done when everything turns into drama and politics. If hired, keep your head down and mouth shut.

    Cons

    A great place to work

    Pros

Co-Workers are very friendly. It's a pretty laid back work environment. Office is nice and provides lots of little perks (good coffee, nice computers, etc).

    Cons

Management can be a PITA. Projects are often given last minute with an unrealistic deadline. Everything is rushed, then one gets yelled at because things weren't done perfectly. Management is extremely stingy about raises and spending money on needed things, but then goes on lavish trips and buys insanely expensive "art".
