I worked at JetBlue full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Co-workers, fast pace, lots of new experiences. I actually loved the C.EO. I was a lower level employee and meet him on several occasions.

    Cons

So many managers and no one is on the same page. It was often frustrating dealing with so many different directions from so many people.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Flight Benefits. Seniority based schedule.

    Cons

JetBlue is no longer a family oriented take care of each other airline. It has outgrown this and currently has Weak Leadership. Although JetBlue supports promoting from within, they DO NOT have training or mentoring for those moving into leadership positions, e.g. flight attendant to Team Leader. Team Leaders have no lee way in gray areas or thinking outside of the box. Team Leaders are figure heads and more worried about their jobs than supporting those on their team. Pay at JetBlue is below industry standard although JetBlue expects above industry standard service. There is a reason that JetBlue did NOT win the JD Power and Associates award this year. Our new CEO from British Airways leaves a lot to be desired. Gone are the days of Dave Neeleman and Dave Barger who made JetBlue Airways. JetBlue is all about making money for our share holders and is quickly becoming just like the other legacy carriers who give mediocre service with NO attempt to deliver exemplary inflight service. JetBlue does NOT support it's inflight crewmembers in trying to make their job easier. JetBlue has too much responsibility that falls on it's inflight crewmember work group. JetBlue DOES NOT reward the inflight work group who work very hard, over and above ANY OTHER AIRINE. Currently a vote is about to take place voting in third party (Union) representation. Benefits are below industry standard which was the catalyst for the pilot work group voting in a Union a couple of years ago. Not enough profit sharing nor company match to 401k plans.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge that a Union is inevitable and it will NOT mean that we can't work well together as evidenced by SWA who has Unions for almost ALL of their work groups but work well together and continue to make profits.

    Pros

Flexible, flight benefits, pay alone is not worth it. Can't think of any other pros but have to hot 20 word minimum to continue.

    Cons

As front line employee you are just a number and expendable. So called promotions are not promotions at all just a shift into different department, no real growth. So if you can take advantage by flying a lot go for it. Terrible IT programs yet they punish employees for using them cause the systems can't handle it.

    Advice to Management

IT needs some serious upgrades. Look at the processes in place before you punish/reward employees.

    I worked at JetBlue full-time

    Pros

    Great co-workers.
    Fun and fulfilling work.
    Fun passengers.
    Great layovers.
    Never take your work home.
    Inventive and progressive company.
    Great leadership.
    Professional and well-oiled machine.
Employees are kept well-informed by the company.
Ability to volunteer for great charities.
Free flying domestically, very small cost to fly internationally and on other carriers.
Great looking uniforms (with yearly allowance).
    Make your own schedule.
    See the world.
In time of need, employees are supported in many ways.

    Cons

Health Benefits are very costly compared to relative companies.
    Too much turnover of supervisors.
PTO given, but no sick or personal days are allotted.
No crew bases in mid-US--all bases are solely on West or East coast. Be prepared to live where you want, but you will not be paid for your commute or reimbursed for near-base housing. Best to live near base to make decent money.
Underpaid compared to all other major airlines.
Promotions are for "favorites," no matter how great an employee you are or how well you have networked yourself with the right people.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is ok, benefits are great. 401k, and retirement plans are good. Uniform compensation always good. Great Company to work for.

    Cons

Favoritism across the board. Terrible open door policy from management and good luck getting an email replied. No work/personal life balance. Rules don't apply to everyone. Dictatorship atmosphere, Very hard for corporate to know what goes on behind closed doors when your crunching numbers. Human resources is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Don't be politicians with your employees. Respect their intelligence and be just and fair. Stop the trial by error training.

I worked at JetBlue (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flight benefits, flexible schedule, opportunity for internal transfers to different cities.

    Cons

No union, rare overtime and run around rules in which employees can work well over 40 without overtime pay. Being forced to stay late everyday because of staffing... shadyness, from personal experience erasing personal emails i sent from a company email address in a cover up in which i was attempted to be fired before 5 years and becoming fully vested in my 401k. Not the only one with a similar story, at least in JFK... No sick days, yeah cool when the jobs requires you to work outside in freezing conditions lol, instead we are given a point system with a little room to wiggle but yeah half of the winter is blacked out now started 2016 so we are welcomed to get double points God forbid we get sick the middle of flu season lmao. Great company to customers, questionable to employees.

    Advice to Management

Treat your Ground Operations and Airports Operations crewmembers like you do your customers.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time

    Pros

Airline industry perks are some of the best in the world. You get to work for a great brand that people love and work with mostly good, smart people. Once you hit a certain level, it's very difficult to move up.

    Cons

Leadership is constantly passing down personal requests that don't align with the larger goals/objectives of the team. Executive team is out of touch with the rest of the company.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Innovative company with some really great ideas.
The Crewmembers I work with are great. In the trenches, teams come together to pull through remarkably well.
Flight benefits are a great idea and work well for the avid traveler. However it's not a stress free system.

    Cons

    NO work/life balance.
Office space is cramped and leadership doesn't see this as a problem. Their solution is to cut cubicle space in half. Taking phone calls is inconvenient to your neighbors and is more than a little stressful.
No training/tuition reimbursement for any job-related trainings. JetBlue has a great program for those who do not possess a 4 year degree, but if you need anything more than that you're out of luck.
Most work travel you actually have to fly standby for. Ironic being an airline and you cannot purchase a seat usually if you're flying somewhere JetBlue doesn't fly.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your Crewmembers. Apply policies consistently across the organization. Offer some kind of training reimbursement for Crewmembers as part of their compensation. This would demonstrate your willingness to invest in your Crewmembers to promote growth.

I worked at JetBlue full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flight benefits are the best reason to work here. Their system is the best and fairest in the industry, standby's are cleared by check in time and not by seniority like the big airlines. Healthcare is okay it becomes expensive if you have chronic health problems or need to add your family members. Profit sharing, 401k are good.

    Cons

Blatant favoritism sups and managers hired their friends and protected them from p.g.'s loc's etc. Good news though is that new hires are getting promoted fast as the seniors are so disgruntled they are not applying for anything. Mandatory overtime is almost an everyday occurrence in the summer(busiest season). Expect it as well during bad weather (b6 does not handle irops well).

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees well and in turn they will be happy to go above and beyond for the customers.
