I worked at JetBlue full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Co-workers, fast pace, lots of new experiences. I actually loved the C.EO. I was a lower level employee and meet him on several occasions.

    Cons

So many managers and no one is on the same page. It was often frustrating dealing with so many different directions from so many people.

I have been working at JetBlue full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most people are friendly. Worst comes to worst, you don't like a colleague, you don't have to work with them again in a few days. Flexibility in scheduling is great.

    Cons

Commuting from any other city that isn't a base is stressful, especially during weather - cancelled flights, delayed, etc. will affect your dependability rating and sometimes result in call outs. They emphasize Caring as a core value however do not seem to take very good care of their employees during Irregular Operations. I personally have not had issues with it but I've been the lucky few.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. It should never seem like work to receive or ask for help. If it continues, I guarantee people will be anxious to sign union papers (if they aren't already anxious).

    I worked at JetBlue full-time

    Pros

Travel Benefits and Profit sharing are reasonable

    Cons

The Inflight Crewmemebers have no Union and hence no voice to protect their jobs, Middle Management is not receptive to the needs of their employees. Job security is not a guarantee here. There is also little support for crewmembers.

    Advice to Management

Upper Management need to meet with front line staff to hear their concerns regarding middle management. Middle management need to be more people oriented and not just focus on firing employees, need to be more supportive.

I worked at JetBlue full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I truly enjoyed my coworkers and the job as a whole for just shy of 13 years. I have seen the job and company change in that time, but what company doesn't. If you love to travel and you love people, go for it!

    Cons

This lifestyle is not for the faint of heart but that is not specific to the company, only to the profession. Go in knowing you may not get a holiday off and reserve is no fun.

    Advice to Management

It is time to stop straddling the fence, you shouldn't get to hide from reserve by being a supervisor or doing a special assignment and then go back out on the line. It is not fair to those who pay their dues in the jumpseat. Management and Inflight should be separated.
