it's a social service organization for low income seniors so it can be a little sad at times but still, that's a choice and matter of perspective

    Pros

You get all the Jewish holidays off & get off early on Fridays.

    Cons

The pay is bad. No room to grow and move up unless you're Jewish. Management is VERY poor. No one knows what they're doing. They just continue to hire morons on a daily basis. Blind is leading the blind.

    Advice to Management

The current management is horrible. They're all morons.

I have been working at Jewish Family Service Of Los Angeles part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, kind management, great union. Have the potential to grow, work with interesting people, working with helping people.

    Cons

Not a lot of hours offered. Opportunity for growth does exist, but takes a lot of time sometimes. Very corporate when it come to reviews.

    Advice to Management

Hopefully provide part time employers with more hours. Not call a 6 month review a probationary period, sounds and feels very negative.

I worked at Jewish Family Service Of Los Angeles full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

About 20 paid Jewish Holidays/year. Everyone is super nice, decent pay, management actually has realistic expectations. A unionized non-profit! Able to work from home in some positions.

    Cons

I heard the DMH contract program is horrible, don't work there. Numerous funding sources that are constantly changing so ZERO job security.

    Advice to Management

    Transparency is key.
