I have been working at Jiffy Lube (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to work with customers, and work on vehicles.

    Cons

Unethical practices . General managers demanding to get there cars vacuumed during their breaks. Smoking cigarettes in your face as your doing it. Excessive drug use. Managers breaking cars, because they do not know how to work on vehicles properly. General Managers not knowing how to train their employees right. Making third employees stand at the street to wave at customers for hours in sub freezing temperatures. No ASE offered. District managers quiting with out lou of notice. The list goes on.

    Advice to Management

If you don't know what your doing, step down like the others have.

I worked at Jiffy Lube full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hired right away without previous experience. Could have been a good starting learning opportunity.

    Cons

Absolutely hostile work environment. First day on the job, and I'm a new student in automotive: 1st shift left me almost untrained, and pretty much left me alone to learn on my own. 2nd shift came in and I was treated less than human. Constantly yelled at by other employees, and management, who sat nearby, said nothing. I was yelled at for non issues the entire time: I popped a hood, and an employee screams at me to pop the hood. I say it's already popped. Starts screaming at me some more, realizes it's open...and nothing. No apology. This continued for the entire shift. I was being screamed at for not telling customers to pop their hoods before entering the garage. I let them know that no one had told me to do that yet (I was halfway into the work day at this point). No one bothered to train me or explain things to me, they just yelled some more. I would name more examples, but these situations continued the entire shift. The worst work experience I have ever had. Do not accept a position here, it's clear they really need the help because they are so toxic they drive potential employees away.

    Advice to Management

Step up and control your staff. The environment is too hostile to work in. Take some time to actually bother to train new people.

Very Little pay for what they expect out of you
Its like a fast food job with cars

I have been working at Jiffy Lube full-time

    Pros

    Half off discount nothing else

    Cons

Horrible scheduling unpaid 30 minute break at random depending on when it gets slow. Make you clock out just to smoke and if a customer come son the lot while you’re smoking you’re still expected to do your job while off the clock. Worst pay possible they said they could only start me at $9.75/hr

    Advice to Management

How about give me enough pay to actually afford my bills and tell the manager at my location to stop giving me the bad end of the stick with the schedule

I worked at Jiffy Lube full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There can be some time to relax when things get slow around the shop.

    Cons

Very poor management. (Managers chosen based on convenience or spots available, not by ability)
Poor pay. General managers and district managers will offer a raise and say it will take effect in two weeks. They actually drag out the raise process to make it take 2-3 months, all while telling you it will be on the next check.
Shady, if not illegal practices by GM’s and DM’s regularly.

    Advice to Management

If you promise something then make good on that promise. Also take your employees complaints on their GM’s seriously or you will end up losing all your employees. (This happened at my shop) Your employees should be your top priority not money.

I worked at Jiffy Lube full-time

    Pros

Nobody cared about what was happening.

    Cons

Too many hoops to jump through to get better pay.

    Advice to Management

Quit being so strict on level entry employees. You don’t make them want to stay.
