I have been working at Jiffy Lube full-time

    Pros

If you're lucky enough to have a good crew things can run smoothly.

    Cons

Corporate is all about the money. They tend to turn a blind eye to the needs of their employees. They don't pay their employees enough for the amount of work and time you put in.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees in the trenches and raise their pay. Without them you don't have a business. Recognize employees with tenure and realize they know what they are doing. They would be more willing to work to their full potential if they just felt a little appreciation. The revolving door would stop if you appreciated the employees you have.

    Pros

You get a paycheck. The HR department are really nice. Small teams so it's nice to be able to get to know your co-workers very well. We had a very good work environment.

    Cons

Low pay, Almost no raises. Company makes lots of promises and breaks them. Very bad work conditions (almost like working outdoors lots of the time).

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and then the turnover rate won't be as bad.

I worked at Jiffy Lube part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Computer based training was very boring but I was able to gain a lot of knowledge from it. Not much hand on training followed which was a big bummer.

    Cons

Very poor management in many areas when it came to scheduling and keeping inventory.

    Advice to Management

Train managers better to provide a better business and workplace

Free oil change 3 times a year and get very minimal education on vehicles

    Cons

Everything is a con. The managemnt is always stressed and take it out on the employees cause if the manager doesnt hit the ticket amount for the day he gets yelled at.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge when people are working hard cause i lot of the employees don't

    Cons

    Upper management is horrible.
No holidays except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
    No room for growth.
Using your vacation hours is always a problem.
No weekends off / No fixed schedule, you get what you get.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees, please.

    Pros

You get to work on cars and gain knowledge of new and older vehicles.

    Cons

Not as much pay as I need, your not treated with respect from management, your just another employee number to corporate.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of employees pay & advancements. Take better care of the stores instead of the store managers & employees putting their own $ into the shop.

I worked at Jiffy Lube full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best reason to work for JIffy Lube is to get experience with cars. They also have flexible scheduling (depends on management). They almost always have opportunities to move into full time work. The provide you with uniforms so your real clothes don't get dirty.

    Cons

The corporate is absolutely awful. You do have to buy your own shoes. They usually promote from within, which would normally be a good thing, except they don't pay enough or they pick the lazy workers to be promoted and the management suffers. Their pay raises are an absolute joke.

    Advice to Management

Allow the managers to pay the good employees more, don't punish the hard working pit tech because he doesn't want to sell. The greeter can't sell if he doesn't have good pit techs and a pit tech gets a afraid of breaking stuff if management isn't on his side.

I have been working at Jiffy Lube full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of educational resources, a great training system. Started out not knowing anything about cars and picked up quickly.

    Cons

Crappy hours, always getting dirty. Getting a raise and promotion is one of the most difficult things I've ever done. Worked with some very shady people who knew how to manipulate the system. Customers always question your honesty. Working out in the heat and cold, you are working in all weather conditions.

    Advice to Management

Know who your talent are and develop them. It's a stressful job for the pay.
