I have been working at Jim Koons Automotive Companies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Performance based with employee satisfaction as a basic tenet.

    Cons

Grow or go is a reality

    Pros

Largest inventory of new Ford vehicles in the market. Good web site easy for customers to browse. Honest in their pricing policies with no surprises. Promotions and low prices drove customers to this location. Great team of sales professionals.

    Cons

Poorly managed with definite bias to top performers without giving new sales associates a chance to succeed. Standard hiring line is "you WILL sell 21 cars a month". That may be true if you have been there for years and have a customer base but not for new sales employees . Amazing how many sales associates were hired and left while I was there - a revolving door of folks who decided the hours were ridiculous for the money earned. The average work week is 55 hours; not uncommon for 60-70. Twelve hour days are the norm.

    Advice to Management

Hire an experienced GSM who can train the management team. And don't hire additional sales associates when sales drop - work with existing talent to increase individual sales performance.

    Pros

    Good pay, benifits and experience.

    Cons

    Work on national holidays

    Advice to Management

Do not extend work hours without asking staff if they can do it. If staff disagrees they get fired. Also please pay new employees who work hard. Don't let one month to three go buy without putting them into the system.
