I have been working at Jim 'N Nick's full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great family, we love to have fun, most people are multi trained, and we have great customer service.

    Cons

Crazy shifts, little managment comunication(FOH), crazy customers

    Advice to Management

Front of house management needs to communicate better. If they are both there then they both need to be on the same page about cuts and need to be more involved in the server's work.

    I worked at Jim 'N Nick's

    Pros

Great product, fresh, good health insurance.

    Cons

It just isn't what it used to be.

    Advice to Management

Getting rid of the local owners really cemented the corporate structure they were obviously aiming for. Listen to the employees that have been around for many years, they have a lot of knowledge.

  3. "Some great people, but not an overall great environment"

      I worked at Jim 'N Nick's

      Pros

I wasn’t a member of the in-house staff, I was actually a member of the Atlanta area catering team. There were some great people to work with and for. The job itself can be pretty flexible as far as hours go, and compensation was good for a first job/starter position. I spent 6 years with the company and in my time I met a lot of great people and did a lot of cool things, but there are many cons to outweigh the pros.

      Cons

Management style wasn’t always very consistent, and a lot of favoritism is shown. There are times when some employees may receive unfair punishment from upper level management, or other times when some employees are allowed to get away with doing whatever they like. Things could be chaotic between lazy or petty staff, and complaints or concerns brought to management weren’t always acted on. If you work in the restaurant...

      Advice to Management

Taking a step back to look at the big picture can change your perspective on many things. Sometimes when upper management makes things too intense or stressful on the lower management, that ends up falling into the basic employees as well and it makes the entire atmosphere awful. The job used to be fun years ago before all of the unnecessary stuff, and you need to get back to those days when your employees ENJOYED being...
