    Jive is a great company that actually values its employees. Make sure you are open to change because life never sits still at this company.

    Cons

    The job is so great that you will work a lot more hours than your spouse will appreciate.

    -People you work with are awesome
    -Jive's Portal is easy to use, and affordable for customers.
    -Gym Reimbursement
    -Health Benefits (almost completely covered by Jive)
    -Jive will match your 401k up to 6%.
    -M-F shifts
    -Free annual Jive retreat
    -Lots of service opportunities!

    Cons

    -Some processes are still manual, so be prepared for some human error.

    Pros

    Paid Benefit premiums! Supportive management and training. Very interested in helping me progress and meet my goals.

    Cons

    They took away our snacks. Said they would give healthy options, but that only happened once in 3 weeks.

    I worked at Jive Communications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I love the people and culture here, I was able to quickly build friendships and it felt like everyone was happy to teach me, I learned a lot which I am grateful for.

    Cons

    Too many people were let go, it seemed that everyone I built a relationship with at Jive was either laid off or fired, until I was too eventually fired. In total five of the people I considered friends were laid off.

    Advice to Management

    Realize the talent you already have, and work harder to help them better themselves instead of laying them off. You may think letting go of one person isn't that bad but you have to realize the effect it has on everyone in that department.

    Pros

    Great and innovative workplace.
    Get to travel to conferences of my choice.
    So many fun challenges and problems to solve
    Some of the greatest people I've ever worked with
    Really good work-life balance
    The benefits are really awesome. (Past offsites to Vegas and Park City!)

    Cons

    Cross team communication (both inter and intra department) getting better but still lots of room to improve
    Lots of legacy systems and technical debt to deal with

    Advice to Management

    Keep improving the cross cutting communication
    Focus more on complete working products vs just shipping as many half baked features as you can

    So much to do. So little time.

    Advice to Management

    Get to know your people. Don't always see them as a business assess but as a human being who can change and develop when given the right tools and expectations.

    Cons

    I have worked for many Utah based companies and none of them has treated there employees as well as Jive does. I can not come up with any Cons.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to be transparent so that we all can know how well Jive is doing and works well with each other.

    I have been working at Jive Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The executives have heard the complaints about themselves. They are starting to bring in the experience that has been asked for. They have recently hired a CFO (first one for Jive) that has the years of experienced often expected of C-levels. They have also brought on a VP of Product that also have the years of experience needed in this role. I have seen how the new VP of Product is concerned about the product and vision and has started meeting with crucial players in the company to get the product(s) focused to achieve the growth desired. Time will tell how things go for the future of the company, and I am cautiously optimistic.

    Cons

    The history at Jive has not been the best and will take a lot of work to overcome.

    I worked at Jive Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Helping to build a new company is challenging and interesting; decent way to gain experience in the field. They may offer basic training and certifications if you work in tech support.

    Cons

    Management sees employees as a means to an end. They don't care about opportunities for advancement and will even discourage it. Company has no integrity or sense of values. Management has almost no experience and everyone tries to cross-micromanage (i.e. sales manager will try to dictate what technical support does) often giving employees conflicting guidelines. Jive upper management and HR like to skirt the line between what does and doesn't violate labor laws, so make sure you're informed in that respect if you decide to work here.

    Advice to Management

    You will go further and grow the company more by valuing your non-salesperson employees instead of seeing them as an expendable resource.
