I worked at Jive Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Technology is very cool and trendy.

    Cons

Very narrow addressable market with a "nice to have" product. Dominated by O365, Google, and other players that have wider value prop.
Absolutely Toxic working environment. Incredibly high turnover due to management not listening to talented employees. Invisible decision making, extremely isolated and uninformed management.

    Advice to Management

Replace everybody with VP title, starting at top down.

I have been working at Jive Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The management is clear and transparent. The Executive team is visible and accessible. The communication is very transparent. Colleagues are friendly and supportive. There is a vision with a clear roadmap to follow and an amazing team to execute on it.

    Cons

Some processes could be sleeker and more embedded but you could argue that too much processes kill agility.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the great work.

I have been working at Jive Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place for someone looking to cruise.
Managment struggling to find direction in a highly competitive tech landscape. This chaos promotes B players, and gives them the opportunity to play in the 'A' player space.

    Cons

The culture is all about drinking the kool-aid.
All the good talent left after the IPO.
I am hanging around because it's a very easy ride. Lots of resume building - and lording it over a bunch of B players.

    Advice to Management

You need to get some serious direction. Hiring sub par talent will not allow you to compete in any sort of innovative way.

The management team is filled with people that are in their role for the first time - "step up" positions - because they can't attract real players.

    Pros

great place to work with great people, and a solid culture.

    Cons

competitive landscape and roadmap is concerning. key talent keeps walking out the door. career ops are limited.

    Advice to Management

offer more ownership stake for employees. top talent can get paid more and offer more stock options elsewhere. w/o a sense of ownership, talent will continue to leave.

    Pros

Not really - maybe the snack but then again many companies offer these to employees anyway

    Cons

Rubbish managers in EMEA support team. Worst I have seen in my life. All liars and lack experience - really shocked to see some have even made it to 'directors'.

    Advice to Management

Get you act together and get some management training. You do realise the huge turnover when it comes to staff. That should give you a clue.

    Pros

Great products suite. Really cool UK office. Others in EMEA could be better but U.K. Is very nice. Some really good people who work hard. Celebrating the success in deals is always good.

    Cons

A couple of bad people at de top of EMEA stack. Constant bullying and boring meeting monologue. This is a shame because it's not the effective way of management.

    Advice to Management

Stop pushing. Start pulling. Especially in all of Europe. You may call this better leadership.

I worked at Jive Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Bagel Thursdays, free snacks and free beer. That's pretty much it

    Cons

Don't let the positive reviews fool you. New hires are encouraged to leave a positive reviews, and with Jive Software advertising on Glassdoor the 4-5 star reviews get displayed on the front page and all the rest of the negative reviews get pushed out.

Leadership is clueless! Good people just leave. High turnaround. It's a revolving door. There are a few clicks that get privileges, and the rest are either new or on their way out.

    Advice to Management

Focus on fixing what people are complaining about rather than asking employees to give you positive reviews on Glassdoor.

    Pros

Is a bag of crisps, a slice of toast, a can of drink or even a twix really considered a pros for working somewhere. Because free snacks and drinks are the only pros you will get whilst working at Jive.

    Cons

The bullying behaviour of so-called leaders in Reading and the weak wimps in the US finally took their toll on the marketing staff. Good people leave this company all the time. A revolving door. Those who stay are forced to write good reviews. Don't be fooled by lies and liars.

    Advice to Management

Greedy people with no class and no manners.
