I have been working at JoS. A. Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great hours, amazing crew, easy work, commission scale is good, management is awesome, the regional Tom really cares about his sellers and is always there for you if you have any questions or concerns. Don't forget: great benefits and 401k.

    Cons

Business just isn't that great. Commission scale is good but when you're not getting the customers through the door you're only making $5 an hour and management doesn't make much more.

I worked at JoS. A. Bank (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Discounts, High quality Merchandise you can be Proud to sell!

    Cons

It's still Retail so this is horrible.

    Advice to Management

I would advice that everyone be on the same page from the top down, and pay your people more, retention is cheaper than retraining and new hires.

I worked at JoS. A. Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

We had the greatest team! As a Woman in a Men's Clothier it was the challenge of a live time. I loved it! I think ever woman should work in this world at least once in her life. Men have a very personal way they shop. To see generation pass down to generation the Art of Tying a Tie was priceless. Ladies I can say that Men can and do spend more on themselves then they claim, but they do it to keep us looking at them. Suits are their Armor in Battle. Instead of polished metal they have polished shoes and their tie is their Family Crests.

    Cons

It is a challenge being on commission while doing Management Duties including being on call 24 hours as Assistant Manager. There are no bonuses either. Same for 3rd Key holders.

    Advice to Management

I was very Proud to be part of the JoS A Bank that made it so hard to negotiate for any less than Men's Warehouse bought them for. That is what Business is all about. I do miss being with that team because in my time of need with my Family they ALL were there for us. Even Doug Ewert in his own way. He would personally write congratulations letters to me for Customers that called in. It is the little things that we have stopped looking at.... Thank you!!

Slow times makes it harder and your pay more variable.
