I have been working at John Crane full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good people. It's a job with benefits.

    Cons

Low pay compared to the market, no bonuses for regular salaried employees, no flexible work arrangements, and a poor vacation policy for new employees. The site is very poorly managed with outdated systems and extreme disorganization (no communication between departments with different departments working toward different goals that aren't communicated). No one is held accountable, so doing your job well is nearly impossible. Huge turnover, people haven't been replaced, and everyone is stretched too thin. People openly talk about looking for jobs elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate the pay vs. the market. Add a bonus.

I have been working at John Crane full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good people, good product, some very good managers and supervisors, decent benefits

    Cons

spend too much time on flowcharts, management doesn't listen to people, continuous improvement group doesn't listen to people, not enough workers in some areas, support staff holds up some supervisors/managers and do the job of the supv/manager, WrONG.

    Advice to Management

listen to the people, don't just do a survey (MYSAY)talk to them, some people have been in their positions too long, get fresh eyes, new ideas without putting it in a flowchart or map or whatever, TALK TO PEOPLE who do the job
