I have been working at John Deere full-time

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. Good place to start a career as an Engineer with many opportunities to develop. Leadership is committed to delivering innovative products.

    Cons

Some of the managers are stuck in their ways and shut down new ideas. The union labor workforce can be painful to deal with.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push new technologies in precision ag. Marketing needs to get ahead of the curve so we aren't always playing catch up with many of our products.

I worked at John Deere as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are really friendly and you get lots of support. Usually tied to real work and projects that are both valuable to you as an intern and as a company.

    Cons

There can be big lulls between project work where you don't have a lot of work. The quality of your internship is very hit or miss based on the manager you get.

I worked at John Deere as an intern

    Pros

You make the internship that you want to get out of it. Meaning managers and other employees will be more than willing to help you get the tools, connections, or certifications to be successful.

    Cons

Performance reviews weren't very insightful to what I could improve on specifically.

I have been working at John Deere full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I think the benefits package at John Deere is really great. Company provided healthcare, 14 paid shut-down days (not including vacation), great options for worklife balance (harder if you support operations), and great opportunities for development.

    Cons

Managers & Supervisors should go through more training in how to best support their employees. Some a good but there are some that are bad.
