I worked at John Deere full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Professional, challenging, innovative, ethical, competitive, and rewarding!

    Cons

Staff resources can be limited, a lot of expected hours (however with some offsetting time off), heavy email traffic, can be heavy expected travel.

    Advice to Management

Break the glass ceiling at Grade 8-9. A little less contract staff employees!

Your mind is often your greatest tool, but as anyone who has been taken over by fear, frustration, or worry knows, it can also be your greatest enemy.

I worked at John Deere full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Decent pay and benefits
    - Good career advancement, IF seeking management track
    - Good working environment, IF you get a decent manager
    - Decent work/life balance, IF you get a decent manager

    Cons

    - "Hire from within" polices encourage ladder-climbing mentality
    - Many middle-managers promoted beyond ability
    - Human Resources (HR) focuses more on protecting company from legal action than on protecting employees
    - Company culture & values are only skin-deep

    Advice to Management

Find a better way to promote management. Many middle managers job-hop as they climb the corporate ladder, often harming those who perform the actual work of keeping John Deere functioning.

I worked at Deere for 9 years and received "exceeds expectations" reviews for the first 8 years from 3 different managers. I was forced out the door by an incompetent manager who was obviously attempting to demonstrate management abilities. I was threatened by the HR manager when I questioned fallacies and lies in my internal file.

I have been working at John Deere full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoy my job, it challenges me and there are opportunities to take on new tasks to grow myself as an employee and person.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the company is very traditional in the sense that they preach a work/life balance but they do not practice it. I have worked with over 5 people now who have left the company because their request to work part-time was denied. Culture is changing and new graduates are seeking companies that allow them to have flexible schedules, teleworking arrangements, etc. If you are interested in that, this is not the company for you.

    Advice to Management

Don't say you are going to allow flexible work arrangements to support the needs of your employees while simultaneously denying employees these things when they request it.

I have been working at John Deere full-time

    Pros

    Flexzeit ist vorhanden
    Arbeitsumgebung ist sehr gut
    wird mit Bonus verguttet
    Super Team zum Arbeiten
Entwicklungchanzen sind gut und Schulungen sind vorhanden

    Cons

    mehrere Obligatorische Werkschliessungen
    Burokratie und Prozesse verlangsamen alles
Cost Reduction Überall, es wird nur an Kosten geguckt und nicht mehr an qualität.
Mehrere Projekt leaders haben keine Ahnung von was sie machen.

    Advice to Management

I worked at John Deere (More than 3 years)

    Pros
