I have been working at John Hancock full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

John Hancock is a great brand and a terrific place to work. The people and talent are strong, and leadership is visible and approachable. The company has been doing a good job in trying to communicate frequently and with transparency so people know what is going on.

    Cons

Sometimes it seems that we are trying to do too much all at the same time. Also, the matrix reporting can be confusing.

I have been working at John Hancock full-time

    Pros

Great place to build skills if you are new to the workforce. Ample work life balance (9am - 4:45) for those with families or outside interests.

    Cons

Limited upward mobility. Not a meritocracy as they claim as opportunities are made available to those that fit within certain networks. Not inspired or rewarded to go above and beyond.

I have been working at John Hancock full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good flexibility and work from home or time off policies in place.
    Great corporate citizenship and events.
    Career opportunities within the organization.

    Cons

Working mentality varies vastly depending on different teams with the salary more or much being in a similar range.
Strong hierarchy and silos in certain areas.

    Advice to Management

Focus on doing business not reporting on business to be done. Work on internal support systems and teams so that work can be done effectively.
