I worked at John Lewis & Partners part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of the best people you will ever work with.

    Cons

There is a layer of senior management who are far too self-absorbed to see they are drowning the business. JLP has lost it's leaders and has, instead, too many preening empire builders not willing to put their egos aside and work towards the wider success of the whole company.

    Advice to Management

Adopt a servant leadership approach - you have great people with huge amounts of knowledge, skills and experience. Give them what they need to be successful, give them some clear strategic goals and watch the business thrive.
