      Pros

Great benefits, excellent compensation, team work a plus at all levels of organization. Award winning organization at the local and national level.

      Cons

At times can be hierarchical, roadblocks and barriers are created at times making difficult for program/project success. Must be able to know your audience before bringing an idea forward.

      Pros

Awesome coworkers, great manager. Opportunities to move up within the organization. Great benefits.

      Cons

Toxic upper management/executives. Promotions sometimes based on "who you know". Employees worry about layoffs every year.

      Pros

excellent room for growth, great benefits! excellent learning experience, able to work around your schedule!

      Cons

the turnover of managers at 1 particular site! the hiring of externs just because lack of staff and many are ignoring the patients as they gossip and talk on their cell phones, ive waited on hold for over 1/2 hour, the patients should feel safe and the staff should be more sympethic to their situation as we all would want to feel the same if we are in the same situation. the hiring of younger unskilled asympethic individuals per one hiring manager at the concord office stated ( we want young blood so that we may train them how we want them as they are set in their ways) compared to mature and very highly skilled individuals. ive work for a few major hospitals, stanford and uc davis and i learned how their systems worked and how their facility ran, i am able to adapt to any medical setting due to my experience, i see it as a little discrimination and after 9 years of dedicated service and 8 very much younger individuals whom were at the job 7 years less then me and my 20 plus years experience i did feel like i was discriminated against.

      Pros

This review is from a bedside MSICU RN. * Great teamwork! * Feels like family. * Great benefits. * Opportunity to learn new skills like CRRT and develop in the relief Charge RN role. * Well supplied. * Self scheduling. * Above average pay. * Opportunities to get involved in Unit Council and committees gives staff a voice in management.

      Cons

      * Disorganization of supplies makes work harder. * EPIC charting is set up in a way that unnecessarily complicates charting and takes time away from patient care. * Advancement in organization does not put enough emphasis on educational preparation. * Nursing Leadership needs managers that have degrees with a management focus from the Charge Nurse level and up. It’s hard for people put in those positions to function in managerial roles when their baseline educational preparation is BSN or Masters with a focus on education. * An infrequently used skills lab would be helpful for keeping skills up to par. * There is opportunity for improvement in the communication between MDs and bedside staff.

      Pros

Team-oriented, great benefits, transformational leadership, beautiful facilities, positive work environment and staff, has an involved Employee Satisfaction Team, it's a Highly-Reliable-Organization (HRO).

      Cons

People stay at John Muir, so it can be hard to find open positions. Salaries are competitive, but not as high, (especially for entry-level positions) as some other healthcare organizations.

      Pros

There is great administrative support, teamwork in the unit, and John Muir Health provides great benefits. Providing quality care is a priority.

      Cons

My only concern is that health care reform will put the organization in the position of not being able to provide some of the great things that they do.
