I worked at John Sanfilippo & Son full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Keeps you on your feet and moving. Great introductory job if you’re looking to get into general warehousing, machine operating, etc.

    Cons

Long hours. Depending on the person, you may fatigue quickly. Constant, repetitive actions for hours on end. Not much room for upward mobility with the company.

    Advice to Management

I suggest that Supervisors implement some sort of duty cycle system; everyone rotates every hour to a different position on the line, lessening fatigue and balancing the work load.

    Pros

JBSS has an inclusive company culture.

    Cons

Overall this is not a great place to work. Executives are all about the money and do not care about the means required to get there including breaking the law.

    Pros

Good pay, great hours, staff mostly good/easy to work with. Some opportunities to move up.

    Cons

different departments frequently show favoritism. Supervisors frequently not proactive, Plenty of people who know how to play the system

    Advice to Management

Become more proactive in cutting out the slackers, reward those actually trying to do well for the company.

    Cons

Fast Pace Job with long hours. Low competitive pay, but to keep a big business afloat you will need to do this and I understand.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being to cheap.

    Pros

Flexible hours, that's it really, there aren't really any good things I can say

    Cons

Upper management is unjust, many unfair labor practices. Plenty of discrimination on gender

    Advice to Management

Please listen and love your employees, no matter how small their roles are.

I worked at John Sanfilippo & Son (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hourly employees are very hard working, dedicated employees. Grossly underpaid.

    Cons

Most unprofessional place I've ever been. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. They packaged themselves as a professional, state of the art company. I found the total opposite. Management is extremely unprofessional and immature. The company prefers to just limp along opposed to making necessary repairs or implementing positive change. They treat hourly associates like second class citizens. They have an extremely high turnover of managers.

    Advice to Management

Any advice would fall on deaf ears. I'm certain that the lax, unprofessional attitudes associated with this place will cost it dearly in the future. I don't expect them to be around much longer. At some point USDA, FDA or EEOC will take notice and deal with them accordingly.

I worked at John Sanfilippo & Son (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount on products are the only real plus.

    Cons

Poor upper management. Zero mid and lower level managers.
They prefer to bandaide problems rather than fix it right the first time.
No room for growth. Lean office staff with too many responsibilities. They expect long hours and always fail to produce positive results. A very frustrating place to work.

    Advice to Management

Pay more to hourly employees to get the quality and dedicated staff required to be successful. Support is just not there for management at the divisions. No standardization throughout the company. Really need to clean house and restructure.

    Pros

A good place to start because there is no accountability. You just blend in with their confusing standard operating procedures. Get some experience and get out. If you can survive there, you can survive anywhere. When you get fired almost all get unemployment benefits because the turn over rate is unbelievable.

    Cons

The management loves tattle tails. Just try to do your work and always agree with the boss. Expect to work tons of overtime with out any notice. They do NOT care if your kids are sick or your mother dies. The management is totally out of touch with the common man. There is no bread for the worker so let them eat cake

    Advice to Management

Sell your business or really your hobby business to someone who knows how to treat the workers right. SELL.SELL.SELL your little hobby business. If not fire all of your upper management.
