I worked at John Sisk & Son full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very nice coworkers, down to earth management and helpful HR.

    Cons

Everyone is overworked/overstretched at senior level, so sometimes issues go for months without resolution. Thankfully it's never anything serious.

    Advice to Management

Do something to take the pressure off senior management to allow them to focus on the stuff that matters.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at John Sisk & Son full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good Company to work for, especially after new, current CEO was appointed, I feel he is making big changes into right direction. Good on training, Health and Safety, systems and procedures, good people to work with, interesting projects

    Cons

Due to nature of business you could be working anywhere in the country, so your commute can be 2hrs each way which is killer when you are required to work 10 hrs shift on site, no relocation money is paid, they might pay your hotel stay once a week or so, but thats it. Generally pay is not the best when you consider hours you required to work, but they contribute decent pension, holiday is 26 days a year. Also... atmosphere at work is very much dependent of your site management, it could be best company to work for or worst company to work for depending on your direct site manager. "Who works longest hours" still exists but that could be down to tight margins in current climate of construction sector. Big company so hard to climb the career ladder within

I have been working at John Sisk & Son full-time

    Pros

Worked on two major projects and both teams were great to work with. Very helpful

    Cons

Senior Management don’t care! No interpersonal relationship. Working for Sisk is a waste of time, too many people ahead of you for it to be possible to make a name for yourself. Salary is very poor compared to other firms. Hours are crazy. For the hours I do I earn less than minimum wage!

    Advice to Management

    Come back to reality
