Pros
The best company I have ever worked for. I hope I will get a chance to join them back in the future. Great employment culture and work/life balance.
Cons
Nothing to mention here .

Ample travel opportunities with diffrent projects. Allow a strong work life balance .The flexibility was not something you see every day with other companies. The Admin team are the some of the kindest people you could meet. Gorgeous offices and workspaces.
Cons
This environment was probably the second to most toxic environment ive ever worked in. I've not ever met so many immature individuals. The company applauds itself for being so diverse and inclusive but it's the furthest from it. The culture truly needs improvement. A number of leaders have been employed for 20 plus years, so with that comes an antiquated way of thinking &"I say what goes" mentality. So, they staff those that aren't receptive to people that are equally or more qualified. Once you disagree or upset a team member - count your days..because they are numbered. Many of the positions can be part time, some of the staff - literally are not needed they tend to make work for themselves. GOSSIP is rampant here.

Pros
-I learned a lot in the beginning of my job. -People are generally friendly. -Lot's of free leftovers. -The office space is pretty nice.
Cons
-Work/Life balance is difficult to achieve depending upon the team you work on. -Very little accountability, particularly among Senior Leadership -The company presents itself outwardly has having a flat hierarchy, but it really doesn't. Senior employees are valued above everyone else (particularly over junior and mid-level career employees). -Salary is quite low relative to competitors. -Their isn't many career or professional development opportunities. -The company values it's institutional knowledge above all else, and often times retains employees that are not well-suited for their role. This attitude prevents the company from embracing divergent thinking and evolving/staying relevant. -IT and HR departments are not advocates for their employees or supportive. -The organization is very siloed and knowledge management across the company is quite poor. -Most of the managers I've encountered are not advocates for their employees nor are they well-suited to be managers. They are stretched quite thin, and don't have the time or resources to manage their teams effectively.

Pros
Laid back environment, tries to be "flat" organisation, staff are generally friendly, family-friendly, lots of activities for kids, very good health insurance, 2 months paid maternity leave, very loyal to long time employees, very hard to get fired.
Cons
Very loyal to long-time employees even if these employees are no longer performing well or do not fit the job description, pay is not competitive, no SOPs for advancement/raise (case by case basis), heavy emphasis on salary history (education and years of experience, not so much)--a newbie with 5 years of experience but a high salary history from the private sector will get better pay than someone who has stayed in the company for 10 years with a good track record and same education level, oh and whites get promoted faster - no kidding, they try to establish SOPs but implementation is a joke, it's about who you know and who likes you (regardless of how good you are at your job), very common to do the same work for half the salary of someone else. no work life balance in some teams (you will get a phone call during vacation) I think people generally mean well. All of the issues stem from managers who should not be managers or who should at least be trained to be managers. most managers do not have an MBA, and in this case that really makes a difference.

Pros
Amazing organization! Working with smart, motivated, and fun people on really interesting public health topics.
Cons
Can't think of many! Work/life balance can be challenging with the world of consulting.

Great company doing meaningful work

Incredibly friendly and driven people who are truly committed to the work that they do. There's room for you to get deeply involved and to make this as much of a learning experience as you would want it to be. They really prioritize work life balance (for the interns) and really went out of their way to make us feel appreciated and valued.
Cons
No cons from the intern perspective but there are some concerns about mobility and room for growth within the company.

Pros
Not a lot of bureaucracy – it’s not created for the sake of having bureaucracy as in many other organizations, but only when absolutely needed for achieving the goals and for protecting the company. The structure is flat, management is reachable at any level. Interesting thing – the offices are assigned based on the years with the organization and not on title. Company is very supportive of its employees and allows for a good balance between work and life. Some of the benefits are really great in comparison to other similar organizations. I think all these things help to retain truly wonderful staff.
Cons
Lack of bureaucracy can also mean that at times there is no clear guidance on how do certain things, so the “wheel” is reinvented again and again. This can be difficult for employees who are not “self-starters”. The IT department is headed by an “old-timer” and it often feels that the organization is not up to speed with all the modern inventions that make work more efficient and productive.
