I worked at Johnson Controls full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Well managed, It is a big company but it has a small company feel. Your contribution matters.

    Cons

As with all large companies, they are subject to the swings of the economy and competition. Honestly, I cannot find a con for Johson Controls, it really is a great company to work for.

    Advice to Management

A company stock purchase program would be a great benefit.

    Pros

Things I like are getting to work with very enthusiastic and educated people who are compensated well for their knowledge and are willing to work in a team atmosphere

    Cons

Challenges include limited budget issues and not a lot of support from senior management in my role and growth potential for me is very limited with no succession plan

    Advice to Management

Please work with individuals to growth your next batch of leadership

I have been working at Johnson Controls full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Busy work, very safety focused!

    Cons

"No unity" if you work on one contract and try to move to another good luck with that!

    Advice to Management

Work as a team, just because you are not on same contract, work together. You all still work for the same comapny

    Pros

Great management, worldclass solutions, and engaged team members committed to ingenuity everyday.

    Cons

Same challenges at all large companies, but JCI gives employees leeway to be creative and provide worldclass solutions to our customers.

    Pros

Great training, good base pay, good opportunity for growth, great benefits.

    Cons

Horrible commission plan and good luck getting a full bonus check; management will find a way to cut it down to very little. It's also a very silo'ed company and your biggest competition may come from other sales reps from other divisions of the company. There's no team atmosphere and it's very challenging to put together a team to land large opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Allow comission sharing for larger opportunities without taking money off the plate of all the sales reps. Also allow for booking sharing between divisions.
