I worked at Johnson Matthey full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    great people and work environment.

    Cons

poor advancement opportunities for US employees as most upper management positions are out of UK.

    Advice to Management

The idea of pulling the IT personnel out of the local sites and managing globally is ridiculous. There is no reason why global initiatives cannot be implemented and keep local IT in place as well. If all to save a few bucks in order to implement SAP, then maybe you selected the incorrect ERP system. Local projects and support are suffering even more than I originally thought would occur, to the point of... being a joke. How did this save anything as SAP project was scrapped and started over. All a waste of time and effort!! Take a different IT approach.....put the Local IT management back in place and manage all IT sites and projects globally.

I have been working at Johnson Matthey full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits are good and that's about it.

    Cons

Leadership only cares about profits and push to get results at any cost. They don't care about people. HR is horrible. There is very little technology and what they have it dated. There are leadership development programs where you have to be nominated, but nothing for individual contributors except for an online learning tools that is based off of sharepoint.

    Advice to Management

Stop pushing processes down our throat and listen to us; ask us what we think. If you're going to promote well-being than act on it all the time. Be consistent in initiatives such as flexible work schedules; make it available for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Most of the managers and supervisors just hired because they knew some one and basically because of networking Not any technical and managerial Skills and their only skill is pushing employee and behave like Master and Slave.
