I have been working at Joie de Vivre (More than 3 years)
Excellent benefits package at the Dream Inn which is longer JDV. Most likely because we are a unionized property.
Managers are fake and are more concerned with squeezing every penny than the needs of the guests. Implement programs that guest don't approve of then blame the employees when guests are unhappy
Advice to Management
Inspire your stafff and actually show them that you value their employment rather than blaming them for your policies
I have been working at Joie de Vivre full-time
If you're a union employee it's nearly impossible to get fired and you get excellent pay.
Hard workers are not rewarded. Upper management is cheap, cutting corners by overworking managers til they burn out. Turn over is incredibly high. Upper management has a "just figure it out and get it done" attitude with little to no guidance or leadership.
I worked at Joie de Vivre part-time (More than a year)
The people that Joie de Vivre attract as employees make the experience. They are always upbeat and management looks for ways to improve the experience for them
As with most hotels there are a ton of seasonal positions, so turnover is extremely fast paced and makes it difficult to acquire full time positions
