I worked at Jones Knowles Ritchie full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Every person employed here seems to be more creatively talented and hard-working than the next and try their very best to mentor & build up their peers. Everyone truly enjoys working with one another & is open to any ideas/comments/suggestions. The new Managing Director is making huge strides to make sure the process is being adhered to.

    Cons

There aren't clearly defined teams amongst the designers at the moment, but this is something leadership is looking into. Sometimes it might seem like growing pains, but I have no doubt the Creative Directors & Managing Director won't be able to set the entire studio up for success within the first few months of 2019.

    Advice to Management

Continue to actively listen to people & empower them.

I worked at Jones Knowles Ritchie full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Every person here is extremely devoted. The design team is talented and willing to go the extra mile to create the best work. Everyone is always striving to do the best work possibly, and they make strides to improve as they rapidly grow. There wasn't a single person that was unpleasant while I was here, and that really speaks to the culture that everyone supports each other. They have a lot of great clients and opportunities...

    Cons

Sometimes the hours can be long, but this is natural in an agency setting. People are expected to work hard because of the high standards that JKR collectively holds themselves to, which is to produce the best work.

    Advice to Management

New talent and recruitment is needed as does every company, but with the amount of work that comes in sometimes there needs to be more heads to take on the workload.

    Pros

JKR is a fantastic place to work for anyone who is driven and motivated, loves great creative and does not care about dogmatic rules or principles. Great work is the focus, while the environment is supportive and allows individual passions and great ideas to shine. Progress is the only constant and change is welcome - which means the teams are encouraged to try new things, sometimes fail but often find new and exciting...

    Cons

If you like structure and regularity, this might not be the place for you. If you are the kind of person who asks them self how things can be improved, it might be! The office is bustling and can perhaps feel busy at times - although in my opinion sharing the office space with young startups is completely worth that!

    Advice to Management

Keep empowering your talent. As the business grows, put in place the right frameworks to keep the entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility high!

I worked at Jones Knowles Ritchie full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People really connect with each other and work as a team, really friendly. The work is amazing and makes you feel really proud of the agency. Breakfast in the morning is handy and the social events are incredible. Lots of Opportunities to show what you've been doing regardless of which department you work in. E.g. anyone can talk at the all-agency meetings. Company branding is so strong and the philosophy...

    Cons

When you don't work directly with the design work, people struggle to understand what you do and you have . BUT this happens in every design agency. As with every job there are highs and lows but I can honestly say that the highs outweighed the lows. I had a strong line manager that was willing to push for my development and standpoint which really helped.
