Thanks for the review! It's encouraging to see that the outcome of our flexible remote philosophy is well received. When COVID hit, we recognized that asking our team to bring their best work to the Jones team is a function of treating health and safety as first priority. Thank you for sharing your experience. The sales team has been an incredible driver of growth to the company. As you know, the Real Estate market is a late bloomer in the adoption of software technology, which makes the sales game challenging and extremely rewarding. Furthermore, our product is changing the daily behavior of property managers, construction managers, commercial tenants and vendors, which means that driving towards a successful customer is sophisticated (and sticky!). Finally, creating a fun environment for your continued growth is what makes founding a company truly meaningful. Thank you for your remarkable contribution to the Jones culture, and looking forward to more growth together!

Pros

There are none so you should stay far away!

Cons

If you want a company that uses and abuses you, then work here. This company does not care about your well-being and will put you down if you speak up. All the positive reviews are written by current employees to not deter new prospects from joining but once you onboard, you will see how laughable and frat-like the culture is. Their culture compares the startup to a family which is toxic and enables the mentality that they can push their high expectations on you while asking you to devote all your time and effort. Most people have gone and left because they were at a breaking point and yet nothing was done to help them when they asked for it. All the responses on Glassdoor are just that the startup culture is not meant for everyone because it is so fast-paced blah blah. There are plenty of startups that do not deteriorate the mental health of their employees. In regards to employee retention, there is no employee that has actually stayed since the start. The only people that have stayed are the ones with the largest stakes in the company, just take a look at their LinkedIn employees page. The product has no clear direction or trajectory and makes empty promises to clients. If you're in sales and kiss up then it's easy to advance. Many roles are sourced overseas to save $ that they are too cheap to pay employees a decent salary. Enjoy the funding while it lasts, won't be long until the company falls apart.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. Your claim of “fake reviews” is surprising. Glassdoor is the trusted leader of verified and anonymous company reviews. We welcome all reviews because Glassdoor is a key resource for startups. Current employees voluntarily submit reviews because they believe it is important to share their perspective. It is also the mission of Glassdoor to give “power to the people” (Rich Barton, CEO & Founder). You are calling these things into question, therefore, readers should question the intention and honesty behind your review. You lobbed a handful of accusatory remarks, so we wanted to respond with some facts to mitigate misinformation: As it pertains to employee retention, we have had employees with Jones since the start. We first started hiring in 2018, and since then four people on our engineering and product team celebrated their two-year and three-year anniversaries. By the end of this year, three people on our sales team and one on our operations team will have celebrated their three-year anniversaries at Jones. We’re thrilled to see team members who have been at Jones since the beginning, and we recently topped up all of their equity grants. As it pertains to building a culture that supports employee well-being, as you know, one of our core values is “Take Care Of Yourself”. This means that the best opportunity we can provide depends on supporting your physical, emotional and social well-being. We promote this by encouraging your daily rest, providing a hybrid workplace, and at the bare minimum taking all your vacation days (with unlimited max vacation). We celebrate personal achievements and stories when our teammates travel the world, build families and achieve life milestones. While we don’t call Jones a “family” workplace, we do believe that supporting each other by “Giving Help Generously”, another one of our core values, is fundamental to a fulfilling work experience for us all. We take pride in our flexible hybrid workplace, which is based on the trust we give our employees to pursue their interests and learning in an adaptable environment. We’ve built trust because our leaders have empathy and openness in addressing the unique needs of each employee. As you know, we consistently talk about these themes on our all-hands meetings, company off-sites and 1-1 meetings with team leaders. We know that building a tech company is super hard, and that’s why we are so proactive about team well-being. As it pertains to company direction, we’re thrilled by the receptivity of the market - our revenue has more than doubled year-to-date while maintaining 94% revenue retention. The numbers indicate that Jones is creating real value for our customers. To continue enabling this growth, we will nurture teammates who exhibit leadership skills, outstanding performance and ability to solve problems for our customers. Finally, our yearly employee retention rates are above 90% - the ultimate metric pointing to a healthy culture, thoughtful leadership and compelling direction. So, in fact most people have stayed. With that said, we’re not perfect, and maintaining employee retention is a constant effort of nurturing culture, ensuring our employees have great mentorship and providing a supportive work environment to achieve personal and professional growth. Thanks again for sharing your review. It’s important to have this conversation transparently so that the Glassdoor readers can be informed on all perspectives. We also invite you to chat with us offline (with your direct manager or HR) so we can further understand your perspective.

Pros

- We have strong product-market fit and our solution really resonates with customers and prospects - We have made amazing hires and the team is full of really talented people that are excited about our mission and vision - Lots of room for growth and ownership, everyone contributes greatly to the day-to-day success of the company which is extremely rewarding - There is a culture of support and camaraderie, everyone wants to be helpful and supportive and is always willing to pitch in to help when someone needs it. - Our customers are fantastic people who root for us to succeed because they know it will make their business and lives better. - Recently raised a big round and have a really big vision we are executing on. It feels like there is so much momentum in the business and that the next few years will continue to be very exciting.

Cons

- (To me this is not necessarily a con, just the expectation of working at an early stage company but some people might not appreciate it) Being that we are early stage (just raised our Series A earlier this year) and growing fast there are always things to do and problems to be solved. This means, at times, putting in long hours and needing to be creative when we are navigating solutions for customers. - Can't do everything on the roadmap and so sometimes need to make tradeoffs for the small win or short-term need v. the long term vision. This again is expected at an early stage company as we are hiring and building out our product and engineering team.

Thanks for the review! You bring up an important point about setting expectations when joining a tech startup. We recognize that every startup has it's unique journey all the while facing demanding challenges. There probably wouldn't be game-changing market opportunities without such challenges. We've always tried to bring people together who have an eagerness to learn and own their impact combined with a tenacious, creative approach to solving problems, especially those of our customers. It's very encouraging to hear from you that there' a culture of support and generosity when it comes to facing such challenges. You are a key part of building a meaningful experience for our team - the foundation that you're building alongside other team members is creating an amazing company and a rewarding place to work!
