I wouldn't call this a "Con" exactly, just a reality. The school is in its infant stages of growth, and needs constant energy and to drive forward with less staff than would be ideal. This also highlights incredible strengths and quality of the staff.
Lot's of shifting and changing happens in order to keep headed in the right direction, but key details are sometimes missed and communication is lacking. It affects staff significantly as it has the effect of spreading people very thin.
Still honing a solid, clear, progressive set of core student expectations for teachers to confidently and corporately hold them accountable to when it comes to classroom behavior and discipline policies. Also, still in need of a dependable front office support system for this.
Advice to Management
Counterbalance the exhausting effects on teachers through a better connection with them:
More frequent contact and better communication from administration, including seeking out teachers honest concerns and an addressing them. There may be a line to draw between concerns and complaining but that's the opportunity to lead and develop the staff.
More quality and specific feedback and encouragement for teachers individually, regarding their work and performance. Teachers are expected to be assessing students; paying attention to and meeting individual student learning needs...teachers will benefit from the same from their leadership.
Joy School is an excellent place to work with great people and great benefits if you are full-time.
Pay is not great because it is a small private school.
