I worked at Joybird full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good salary, Free food and snacks

    Cons

Divided company due to divided upper management team, bad communication between departments; if you want to contribute ideas and create change, beware, at the end you will not be considered and you will end up frustrated of all of the things you propose and are told they don't think that will work, and then, they will say they come up with the idea and now it is implemented and guess what, what a great idea! Oh and stay clear of the upper management and their personal relationships there, you will just get even more pushed a side because the "ladies" will see you as a threat, so sad that careers gets ruined because of who they sleep with.

I worked at Joybird full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Some people are actually genuinely nice.

    Cons

Manager is immature. Manager plays favoritism. Manager relies on another manager by the title of Efficiencies Manager who is a total nightmare to work with. Indirectly rude at all times. Management here is poor all around. Perform well, receive a praise here and there. Mess up once, and you’re immediately called out.

I have been working at Joybird full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Joybird is a fast-paced company that is constantly breaking barriers. We use the latest technologies and keep up-to-date with the newest trends. As such, people may find it difficult to keep up and learn new tasks. You are a great fit if you are a lifelong learner, a problem solver, or someone who knows how to hustle. The employees at the company have become like a second family. Everyone is working toward a common goal and we do it as one. One of the best things about the company is that if you did something good or came up with a solution, you will receive credit and praise for it. The culture is such that nobody tries to take your work and pass it off as their own.

    Cons

Things can get stressful at times. It's a real trial by fire but if you can take the heat, it's worth it

    I worked at Joybird full-time

    Pros

    None at all. Zero. Run!

    Cons

None of the owners are on the same page, it’s as if they don’t even email each other. Decisions are made without any thought process, it’s a bunch of guys with money that throw stuff on the wall to see if it sticks. It’s like a revolving door with the employees, very few people even make it a year. Everyone knows that the owners are dating the employees and it’s ridiculous. They sell you on all this BS in the beginning and then you get smacked with reality. My biggest regret is not actually listening to the Glassdoor reviews.

    I worked at Joybird full-time

    Pros

You are confronted with perks, gifts, and smiles when you first arrive. Almost everyone is really quite nice. I was able to experience a different job atmosphere, and meet some very nice people. I want to say although this was not a great experience for me, I do believe you could have an ok run at the company. I gave up another opportunity for this job, and unfortunately that was the wrong choice. Pay / benefits better than you would expect.

    Cons

None of the owners are on the same page, they have no solid vision for the company, and no real branding. They just want to sell things fast, as opposed to making a lasting name in design for themselves. They are the fast fashion of furniture sales. It seems as though everyone has their own agenda, therefore it is a constant run around with a ridiculous amount of meetings on how to correct things. They want to be a start up that people are excited to work for, but once you look past the snacks, new desks, and holiday gifts, you see it as it really is. Most of the work fell on select people, some of which were overloaded to the point of being sick (again going back to the idea that no two teams seemed to be able to work together). Oh, and it's in Commerce.

I have been working at Joybird full-time

    Pros

We are one giant team and all grow/work together, we have grown very fast. The customer service team has increased by 50% since 2016 and now by 33% January 2018. Fun and open environment where your voice is heard and ideas are considered. New departments/job opportunities present themselves so there is a lot of room for growth. Departments work together to problem solve and help each other get better, you don't have someone hanging over your head and micromanaging all the time.

    Cons

More corporate-minded individuals who require a very structured workflow may find it difficult to adjust to a more open/fluid environment that may require you to think outside the box or help a different department in order to problem solve/improve.

    "DO NOT WORK HERE."

I worked at Joybird full-time for less than a year

    Pros

None. This is a zero star review.

    Cons

In all seriousness, working here was the worst experience I've had in my career. The "execs" have no communication skills are scattered between two countries and seem to be running on four separate agendas. The people running this company are incredibly arrogant and drunk off of their own image. As stated in another review, they like to fancy themselves as some cutting edge tech company -- the reality however is that this place is run by a mediocre UI/UX wannabe whose only focus is on "web technology" but has NO CLUE how to translate that into a sustainable, A-list business model. They like to think they have some sort of lofty ethos, but the reality is that none of the principals know what they're doing. The brand basically steals designs from all the major players (west elm, etc..) and then gives them a new name. The flow of cease and desist letters to the office is constant. OR, they buy a bunch of cheap crap products from China and slap it on the website. Job security is non existent. Since they can't keep a cohesive business plan together, their "grasping at straws" approach to doing business means that they run through talent like paper towels. They hire you and once they've decided to move on to some new, misguided business tack -- they drop you. When they fire you, they basically lie to your face about the reason (there is none since its about THEM making "business decisions" that they can't own up to honestly -- and less about you or your performance -- even though they love to make it seem like everyone in the world falls short of their eternal brilliance) and will go so far as to slander you to your former colleagues once the ax drops. These people are the lowest of the low. They get you to buy in to their BS by hiring you and then seem to take perverse pleasure in doing people in. Garbage. Most disturbing is the complete lack of professionalism in the office. There are inappropriate romantic relationships between certain management and suboordinates. Literal harassers in the office that are ignored. The HR dept. is MAYBE 6 months old. Its a mess. a MESS. The favoritism in that office is so thick you can slice it with a spoon. They talk all this talk about creating a culture -- but -- the culture they have created is one of lecherous favoritism and less about being truly interested in growing the people that they have working for them. There's absolutely no transparency here. And lastly as stated in the other review --The majority of the positive reviews here came from being PRESSURED to add them so that the true nature of their "business" would be obscured on Glassdoor. If you are a driven, self respecting, friendly and fair minded professional that has goals and is on a career trajectory -- DO NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE. YOU WILL BE MAKING A GRAVE MISTAKE AND TAKING MASSIVE STEPS BACKWARD. You've been warned.
