Administration, district employees, politics, no consistency or equality in employee accountability, disrespect of employee time, horrible response time if a response is even sent.

    Pros

They have a great team here. Everyone is very friendly and supportive. They make you want to come back to work the next day

    Cons

Not enough resources to do job properly. Spend too much time spending time on behavioral issues that needs to be taken care of outside of the school

    Advice to Management

Get these students proper help they need

I have been working at Judson ISD full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love the kids. All day every day.

    Cons

This place really sucks the life out of you. It's known as The Judson Way: Find a district that's successful; try to steal their ideas; force your staff to implement for 1 or 2 years tops; react to something else a year later and forget about all the time and money poured into the other initiatives. Take take take more more more from the teachers and DEMAND that they put their own health, wealth and families behind the admin's desires to polish their image or shirk responsibility of blame.

    Advice to Management

I hate this place. You need to seriously vet your admin and district personal. They are perfectly described as incompetent. I have experience in 2 other districts and they both put Judson to shame.

I worked at Judson ISD full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Faculty and staff are wonderful. I loved working and interacting with the students and their families.

    Cons

Not enough time during the day to complete all the work. Involves a lot of unpaid overtime without pay. Inconsistent expectations.

    Advice to Management

A pat on the back every once in a while would be helpful.

I worked at Judson ISD (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I really enjoyed working with the teaching staff at Metzger, they are some of the most talented and compassionate workers!!

    Cons

While I was able to work with excellent teachers, the administration was absolutely horrible. They were so inconsistent and would throw their staff under the bus before taking responsibility for their short comings.

    Advice to Management

    Please vet your administration staff!!

I have been working at Judson ISD full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The teachers there are great and very supportive.

    Cons

Administration need to have strict discipline guidelines for the students, instead of only having it at the end of the year.

    Advice to Management

You guys have to be careful, you all have the reputation with the students of being lenient and lax. They know that you won't do anything to them, as far as them being disciplined for misbehavior, or skipping. I had multiple students state,"go ahead write me up their not going to do anything, I am just going to come back to class!"

    Pros

They will hire someone that is new to teaching or had an alternative certification. If you like helping kids from diverse and ethnic backgrounds great place to be.

    Cons

Administration will not back you up. A kid can curse you out and the referral process is so ineffective and slow that same kid will be in your class tomorrow. Pay is the worse in that area

    Advice to Management

Stop being scared of lawyers and parents.

I have been working at Judson ISD full-time

    Pros

    Like working with the students

    Cons

Leadership is too political. They seem to hire people they like or know but who may not necessarily qualify for the position, which hurts the school community.

    Advice to Management

Hire people because of qualifications and not because they are a relative, know someone that you know, your friend recommended them, or they slept with you.
