    Pros

Innovative environment gives plenty of opportunities for career growth

    Cons

Nothing specific to JB comes to mind. Just the nature of the industry means potential job elimination due to changing business direction. Up to the individual to be able to re-market internally.

    Advice to Management

    Don't loose the family culture

    Pros

Entrepreneurial culture, access to senior management, global business, friendly atmosphere, management stability and continuity, big enough to matter and small enough to care

    Cons

Lack of institutionalized career development path, not very transparent or consistent performance management process, behind the curve on all matters related to IT

I have been working at Julius Bär full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The different cultures in senior management and middle management help to encourage the different mindsets among the staff in their daily responsibilities.

    Cons

The stability of senior management in decision making process of staff hiring needs to be further improved. The hiring of the correct people is important in nurturing efficient environment

    Advice to Management

The senior management needs to work closer with Human Resources in talent management and staff hiring. Wrong hires often lead to frustrations to the existing staff

I worked at Julius Bär full-time

    Pros

Some talented and clever folk, but impossible to achieve anything due to micro-management from Zurich. Office hours are very leisurely.

    Cons

Terrible bonuses unless you are senior management or a big revenue generator. Poor morale (sadly), very little career path for those in 20s/30s, firm feels like it is dying by a thousand cuts.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire highly qualified staff. The business does not need them.

I worked at Julius Bär full-time

    Pros

Decent brand. The produkt offering is OK, but not great. IT systems are OK but their is a lack of digital strategy.

    Cons

Their are much too many committees and a lack of ownership. Lack of vision on where to take the business and how. People operate in silos and are satisfied with the status quo.

    Advice to Management

Treat present and previous employees with more respekt. Get more involved in the day-2-day. Must make the tough decisions. Need to compensate for growth and not for existing business.
