I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Rami is charismatic
    - Great comp package
    - Still has the potential to be great again

    Cons

    - Way too top heavy
    - Too many layoffs
    - No innovation
    - Security and “cloud” are boat anchors

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring more over-paid C-levels. Get rid of the CSO as quickly as humanly possible; seriously, her policies are crippling the rank and file and she hides behind a wall of bureaucracy. Don’t lay off individual contributors, yet keep the bloated middle management intact AND continue to hire senior level management. Currently, it’s the Titanic; it’s sinking but the elite are on the deck eating caviar and sipping champagne.

Please...turn it around before all the good people leave and there’s nothing left but useless management that came from companies that failed.

    2. Layoffs are often, not because of bad performance. but because of cost cut
    3. No team work. everyone works as a individual contributors. No Agile

    Advice to Management

I worked at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

There are lot of old school people. Some great people. If you dont have manager that doesnt do open dialogue to listen to your ideas then you are screwed. There are lot of managers that fall in the category or closed door managers. Watch out !!!

    Cons

Very few managers are open to listen to the team and everyone is busy to show off to their bosses.

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits at Juniper are amazing as they are with most California based companies. The culture isn't really what it's advertised to be.

    Cons

Seems to be run by the Bangalore Mafia. Gone are the days the company could live off of business with all the top tier service providers. They are trying to shift to cloud builders and they are in a good spot, sadly those companies thrive on software driven solutions and Juniper, quite frankly sucks at software and upper management is so out of touch with the rest of the customer base. The commercial/enterprise space is a complete train wreck since Cioffi took over.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people on the street in front of customers. The company will go through a bunch of pain while they try to shift to being a software driven company.
