    Cons

Improvements can be made so Decision making is a little more democratic.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Excellent people, really the best. Good tech in products, Junos is really outstanding.

    Cons

Sometimes disorganized, no longer focused on security.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes you have to seriously invest in products to keep them viable.

I worked at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

Juniper has friendly work environment (back then, don't know about how).
Promotion is generally fair between 2005 to 2010. After that, gets political.
    Technology is great.

    Cons

Innovation is not as fast as competitors. Product road map is rather slow. ASIC team is not strong enough.

    Advice to Management

Hire right person for job. Since 2017, hiring friends and ex-coworkers are becoming common. It is very frustrating and wasting time to go thru interview process if hiring goes to friends and internal candidates.
Create more test eng jobs at Sunnyvale.

I worked at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

    - Very nimble.
    - Fast turnaround cycles in both engineering and in operations.
    - Compensation package is well above the market and so employee satisfaction on that front is very high.

    Cons

    - Juniper closely follows Cisco in terms of market outlook (quarterly results, future projections) and company performance (layoffs).
    - Lack of UI and UX talent, which is irritating to employees and crippling the company in the marketplace.

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great talented people in all functions. At ground / foot soldier level very lean operation. CEO and exec team does a great job at company meetings and all hands communicating the company vision.

    Cons

Too much uncertainty (read layoffs) in the air every alternate quarter (for what ever reason and creates disturbance in the company culture / state).

    Advice to Management

Middle Management heavily redundant, time to trim there and get to better definition of their roles, responsibilities and performance review. Dilutes down the vision or makes it seem un-real during execution.

Like similar large companies good opportunity to try different roles if you are starting your career.

    Cons

Company is very focused in specific market verticals which stifles innovation and growth at some point.
