I worked at Juniper Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people, great CEO, interesting work.

    Cons

LOTS of work, up to you to regulate how much you do. Need to do a lot without very much support.

    Advice to Management

Heading down a good path right now. My only suggestion is to be careful about overloading people. Prioritize work and be realistic about how much can be done.

I worked at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

Flexible work hours, friendly people, good 401k matching and benefits

    Cons

There are redundant and excessive status updates for exec team. Work life balance can be tough due to different geographies and late night or early conference calls. Middle management can't execute or deliver on time because they are forced to meet unrealistic schedules which trickles down to the working level working around the clock and on the weekends

    Advice to Management

review the product roadmap and learn how to forecast properly. Every product seems to be a catch up to the competitor. Do market studies and try to stay ahead of the curve instead of forcing unrealistic schedules on Eng to deliver products that are already late before they even start.

I have been working at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

Great Work Environment. Excellent Benefits. The Company has many offerings that match the trends of the market. SDN for both WAN and Data Center. Virtualized editions of their high performance hardware solutions that run one of the all-time industry favorite operating systems: JUNOS.

    Cons

Not the biggest company. Most employees are expected to be fairly broad in their understanding of the wide spectrum of product offerings.

    Advice to Management

In the past, management has done a good job of sparing customer facing staff from the occasional layoff list. This helps keep faith with the customer. Please try not to put back all the extra layers of management that was trimmed out over the last few years. Keep Rami and Vin in charge. Please work to retain those who have multiple years of Juniper experience.

    Cons

    - You won't get a good amount of hike unless you push for it
    - Pushing people towards new technology and good quality code needs to be improved

    Advice to Management

    - It would be great if management tries to retain good talent.
    - A lot of good talent leave the company and the management doesn't do a lot to retain them.
