I worked at Juniper Networks full-time

    Pros

A lot of benefits, perks, you will become fat and happy there

    Cons

Most of the perks are superficial. People are treated as expendable. They over hire than cut as a regular process. No one is safe or secure. Not well run. Many titles are inflated.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on substance, less emphasis on sizzle

    Pros

Great people depending on the group, will work to get the job done regardless of how it was presented to the team by management.

    Cons

Poor management, often promoted without leadership experience and or within the same group, which makes for leadership challenges. They work you hard without a second thought on work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Take into consideration the big picture and not just your pie in the sky view. Allow your teams to work together for the greater good, without letting your ego play a part.

    Pros

Some great people with good experience to learn from.
    Opportunities exist to change roles.
Starting to make the right moves to transform the company, but still slow to evolve.

    Cons

Extremely Sunnyvale-focused ref decision-making makes all remote locations somewhat precarious.
All program decisions roll up to 1 single person.
Lots of process overhead and inefficiency.
Still very much a hardware company in a software era.

    Pros

Great Leadership throughout company, company values reflect the overall culture which allow for innovation. Compensation is great.

    Cons

Although compensation is great, they WILL work you and expect to manage a very large workload. Leadership is great but budgets do not allow us to do end user marketing to the level of our competitors.

I worked at Juniper Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get culture with "Challenger" attitude from top to bottom in the company. Senior leaders understood where company needed to go and put strategy in place to get there.

    Cons

Too much dependence on too few customers causing too many WFR's at times when it would have paid off to invest.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, the company has great products, great people and the right leadership at the helm. Broaden partnerships to compete better with Cisco.
