      Good company/good benefits

      Pros

Company has been acquiring smaller companies with new technologies and solutions the past 2 years. Overall company, and especially the Marketing group, has done a good deal of work to provide resources for work/life balance in the reality of the last year. Salaries are good, especially when moving up to management positions. Benefits are also good.

      Cons

Managers had to work 4 days onsite; with guidance from our govt. and counties during the pandemic, this obviously was not the case. I hope when Juniper managers return to work onsite, that they are allowed more flexibility, along with employees who were allowed to work from home 3 days/week.

Security BU is a sinking ship - Stay away

Aug 22, 2020 - Marketing in Sunnyvale, CA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Decent salary, benefits and work life balance

      Cons

Constant reorgs, almost feels like management is just playing musical chairs. High attrition particularly in the security BU. People left after short tenures because they found the VP to be very toxic. Management is not focussed in building strong teams. They believe they can turn around the security BU merely by rebranding. The product is weak with incomplete solutions in all segments. Gartner in 2019 mentioned Juniper SRX firewalls are the most replaced firewall vendor.

Great place to end up at

      Pros

      - This definitely feels like the job you "end up at". Not a lot of stress, pretty good pay after you've put in 7+ years, good benefits, amazing work life balance. - Very established company and isn't going to be going anywhere anytime soon - Very good work life balance, people are usually offline by 5pm because everyone has a family and is on their way home - Good work from home policy (depending on team). People take 1-2 days to work from home each week. - Good communication between individual contributors and managers (depending on team). Weekly 1-on-1's are really great. - Runs on a quarterly system so while fast paced, you are never overwhelmed with work. - People are pretty accommodating for meeting schedules for international times. - Pretty good benefits and good 401K matching

      Cons

      - Pay for new college grads is really, really bad. Even with a promotion I am still earning below the minimum average salary of people in my industry for the Bay Area. Almost all new college hires leave Juniper within a year or two. - Demographic definitely skews toward an older side (excluding marketing). As a new college grad, you probably won't make a lot of new friends. - C-suite level leadership don't really seem to know what they're doing. They keep mentioning that we don't hit our marks each quarter, but it was expected. So if its expected, why not do something about it?
