I worked at Just Energy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - good location
    - free coffee/tea
    - newly renovated building
    - cafeteria
    - good benefits

    Cons

    - poor pay
    - no work/life balance (shouldn't take lunch or should work after hours if trouble managing workload)
    - You'll only get ahead if you're friends with the manager
    - not flexible (certain ppl in come in at 10 and go when they please)
    - very disorganized
    - no opportunity or time to get ahead
    - extremely heavy workload (should have been at least 2 other people doing my job)
    - lots of politics
    - employees not willing to teach or train you new things; figure it out yourself mentality
    - was there almost a year only interacted with my direct report less than 10 times

    Advice to Management

    - should care more about employees
    - on paper company has great values but upper management does not exhibit those qualities
    - put people in upper positions who can actually manage teams and not put people against each other

I worked at Just Energy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None other than location however they are over crowded in building

    Cons

As a former employee I would like to share some helpful information for job seekers.

First I would like to point out that the organization employs poor leaders and they are not held accountable for their performance.

Within the last year the company culture has changed. Mainly because new leaders joined and rolled out changes within company that were aggressive. The culture is not designed for everyone to work towards a common goal it's now a back stabbing type culture.

It is not a good place to work. Also if you decide to work for the company good luck getting paid. The payroll is always wrong.

    Advice to Management

    Value employees
    Stop micro managing
    Hold leaders accountable
    Pay for performance
    Pay bonuses fairly
    Work life balance
    Stop over working employees
Stop over staffing and fix problem
    Stop staffing top heavy

    Advice to Management

Invest in current talent, raise compensation for current employees as it's cheaper to keep current talent than seek outside

I worked at Just Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It used to be a career with great pay if you worked hard, now i guess $9 an hour may be a pro to some.

    Cons

Low pay comparable to Mcdonalds, weak benefits, sketchy holiday pay and you rarely see bonuses and never see overrides.

    Advice to Management

Go back to commission only pay or cut out the 0-10 commission rule. Pay what you say you will pay and for work done. You killed a great company.
