I have been working at Kärcher full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People and the work ethic! Good product line! Benefits

    Cons

I was reading about the HR issues. Yes, there did seem to be issues with two of the staff in corporate. Very untrustworthy and mean spirited. There was a HR member in Arkansas that was very unprofessional as well. Since the three have left the department has been more approachable and easier to work with. The head of HR is a smart person whom I trust!

    Advice to Management

Don't forget about the little people!

I have been working at Kärcher full-time

    Pros

Teamwork is good within the groups. Flexible time-off schedule. The direct managers seem to care for the most part.

    Cons

Senior management has no plan. Pretty negative environment. Teams don't work well with other teams. No raises or bonuses for multiple years.

    Advice to Management

Bring people in who have a clue. Stop telling everyone to "sell more" - only certain people sell stuff. Figure out how to make some money because if you don't pay your people what the going rate is, there won't be anyone left.

    Advice to Management

Hire back most of the origanil tecserv service department mechanics and make them managers and watch the company grow again, not the old scamming managers that helped bring the company down

    I worked at Kärcher full-time

    Pros

Large, international presence and (formerly) a great name.

    Cons

In the end, in the opinion of many, Germany is as much of the problem as is they enabled the once profitable and growth oriented company to atrophy due to a combination of Machiavellianism, self - absorbed and self - important management.

In the opinion of many the HR dysfunction -- and mean spiritedness -- expressed by many cannot be overstated. Also, not sure about comments of "great people" still working there -- many are sycophants and cannot be considered good people who help enable the former and current management along the way.

    Advice to Management

Advice to Germany think back a few CEOs and how he and his team grew sales and were profitable . . . Germany should ask what are we in business to do? And then ask, what HAVE we been doing for the past 4 - 5 years?

    Cons

At some point your position will be eliminated. Hard to be effective at your job with that constant threat looming.

I worked at Kärcher full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people at the lower levels, gym on site.

    Cons

Horrible HR department that cannot be trusted. Upper management is clueless and sits on the 4th floor and will not interact with anyone but those that are in the C Suite. Terrible morale and culture that is only getting worse as time goes on. So many good people are let go yet upper management continues to flourish and are not held accountable.

    Advice to Management

First, get a clue! Get out of your offices and actually talk to the people that are doing the work; you might actually find out what some of the real problems are and be able to make a positive change. The ENTIRE HR department needs to be let go. They are a cancer to the organization and are not there to help the employees.

    Pros

Huge opportunity for growth across multiple distribution channels

    Cons

Management team has no clue how to capture the opportunity and they have near zero regard for their employees. Culture is as bad as it gets. People are consistently leaving or being fired.

    Advice to Management

Understand the true abilities of the people you still have on board. There's more talent than you realize.
