    Pros

Some areas of the office had fun employees!

    Cons

I have been here little over two years and they have gone through two HR's already. Highly unethical place to work at. If you speak up or try to raise issues against the big boss they find a way to get rid of you. Turnover is so high but nothing is being done about addressing issues.
Only employees sees raised are construction, marketing or employees who brown nose or are YES man

    Advice to Management

Grow up and stand up for your employees. Stop playing favorites!!!!

    Pros

A quality product, great people, and an honest CEO that tries to do the right thing.

    Cons

Despite Ara’s efforts in continuing in the founder’s philosophy, “The first name in lasting value,” presently, K Hov is not the place to seek employment. You will quickly find yourself working for one of the highest “employee turnover” homebuilders’ in the industry (sales and management alike), a misogynist and condescending Group President with a little man’s complex, a collapsing stock value, lower than standard industry pay, unjust pay (customer survey bonus affected by services not provided by the Sales Agent, i.e., loan process, design center, etc.), and an ongoing façade of mid-level management’s constant rouse in distracting upper management with their land, product, and pricing blunders by blaming the sales force.

    Advice to Management

Visit all communities nationwide, ask Sales Agent's (front line troops) for their input.

I have been working at K. Hovnanian Homes full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.

    Cons

I have worked for K Hovnanian in the sales division for the last 3 years. The company has outdated systems that are redundant, creating confusion from land, sales and marketing. This company is a disaster, full of nepotism and back stabbing. There is a small group of people that are hard working and loyal, however the majority of management does not care for the workers or trade partners. Do your research and you will find out why K Hovnanian as of June 2015 are trading under $3 a share, the company is under capitalized with a huge burden of debt (1.6 billion). Poor quality homes makes it a nightmare for a new home owner. The C.E.O in Red Bank New Jersey has no idea how bad it is in Maryland. The company motto of "First name in lasting value" is a complete joke. If the founder of KHov were to see what has happened to his beloved company he would have been terribly heart broken. Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this company.

    Advice to Management

    What management?

    Pros

Enjoyed the people that worked for me and the trade relationships I built. That is about it for pros.

    Cons

They will take advantage of you every chance they get! You will do the job of 5 people and never get the credit or money you deserve. Upper management that are in the office are quick to blame you or field guys just as quick as they will take credit for your success . Trades do not get paid on time, The V.Ps taught they are a top 10 builder look around, Their stock has not been above six dollars. Highly leveraged company full of self righteous morons.

    Advice to Management

Take a look around, you are failing miserably. Stop sweeping mold and other problems under the carpet while patting yourself on the back.

I have been working at K. Hovnanian Homes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    None that I could find.

    Cons

They are have absolutely no training for new employees. The only training provided within the first 6 months was "Magic" - how to handle angry customers - which was accurate as we did not hit a single date, hold through to our word or promises, and provided awful homes to customers. They do not know how to manage employees whatsoever. Out of the 6 months so far at my community, my manager has not visited 1 time - yet on conference calls tells his supervisors that he has visited weekly. Worst job I have ever had in my entire life. Interviewing for another job as we speak.

    Advice to Management

Get new managers and change your business practice and culture.
