    EXTREMELY Bureaucratic !!! BEWARE

    Pros

Good pay Learning experience I liked the work being done

    Cons

The company has unrealistic deadlines and expectations for their workforce. There’s lies no sense of job security, everyone is replaceable. It created an egregiously toxic environment to work in. Everyone is out to get everyone, as an intern, to witness this type of construction site work environment left a sour taste in my mouth. Upper management would visit the site only to levy bad news, and apply stress and pressure to an already overloaded worksite with even harsher deadlines and obstacles. Because this culture exist, as a means to justify employment, everyone snakes the next person to make themselves look good. So very toxic. I’ve never seen anything like it.

    Pros

Good commissions and homes are beautiful.

    Cons

A sales position at K Hovnanian in the Orlando division - management does not treat sales associates fairly. Upper sales Management exhibits a culture which lacks professionalism. Leadership promote gossip and favoritism and lack the ability to remain objective due to personal Relationships with sales people. There was a lot of gossip among sales people and management. They would talk about salespeople to other sales people. You are placed in communities not due to your ability to sell homes but the level of friendship with upper management. Consequently turn over is very high in sales. Their is a lot of drama and politics involved a Sales position with K Hovnanian. Which is odd because there should be no place for that with good leadership. This is probably the reason they have so many sales positions available. Employees leave companies because of management. Which is the reason 3 of their sales people have quit is the past 6 months. I am writing this review to hopefully help others avoid making a regrettable decision working here. You will work hard at selling homes and then have to walk away leaving commissions on the table because you can no longer take going to work under such unprofessional leadership.

    Used to be great...

    Pros

Brighton Homes/ KHOV was once a great place to work. If you were willing to put in the effort, the compensation was great and you were treated fairly. I worked for several different sales managers and most were supportive and created an environment that provided an opportunity to succeed.

    Cons

In the last couple of years senior management has begun to turn-over. Upper management seems to be in a turf battle. Veteran Sales Managers have left and those that remain seem to have given up. New Sales Managers have created a hostile environment. Top producers have left and others are on their way out. Poor treatment, commission cuts and the dramatic change in culture is driving good people away.

Managers are willing to see the problems, but unwilling to make the changes. Ignorance is bliss mentality.

    Pros

After 9 experienced people quitting for the same reasons, the only Pros I can think of is... You have a place to work and provide for you family if nothing bothers you. your patience will be tested.

    Cons

No team work atmosphere....The me first mentality. Manager Tactics are poorly used keep the body loose the mind tactics by humiliation. Poor communication with trades lead to bad Quality product. Upper management strives on Chaos. Trades leaving due to lies about payment agreements. empty promises. They Blame the last Manager that left. Management Demand all your time....Purposely trying to ruin your career while ruining their own. When entering the snake pit...Find out what snakes are venomous, then you could pet the rest.

Great potential, but curently, not a place to seek employment

    Pros

A quality product, great people, and an honest CEO that tries to do the right thing.

    Cons

Despite Ara’s efforts in continuing in the founder’s philosophy, “The first name in lasting value,” presently, K Hov is not the place to seek employment. You will quickly find yourself working for one of the highest “employee turnover” homebuilders’ in the industry (sales and management alike), a misogynist and condescending Group President with a little man’s complex, a collapsing stock value, lower than standard industry pay, unjust pay (customer survey bonus affected by services not provided by the Sales Agent, i.e., loan process, design center, etc.), and an ongoing façade of mid-level management’s constant rouse in distracting upper management with their land, product, and pricing blunders by blaming the sales force.

    Pros

Great product. Great place to work on the ground. Good place to get your feet wet with entry construction management.

    Cons

Mid- to Upper management is stuck in how it's always been done instead of being agile. Old construction management practices are pushed. Trades are treated as if they were expendable. Change is not easy to come by as the people that can push the change won't because they have been with the company too long. KPIs used to track performance is not in line with the company we try to be.

    Pros

Enjoyed the people that worked for me and the trade relationships I built. That is about it for pros.

    Cons

They will take advantage of you every chance they get! You will do the job of 5 people and never get the credit or money you deserve. Upper management that are in the office are quick to blame you or field guys just as quick as they will take credit for your success . Trades do not get paid on time, The V.Ps taught they are a top 10 builder look around, Their stock has not been above six dollars. Highly leveraged company full of self righteous morons.

    Pros

    You have job and benefits.

    Cons

Outdated product, incentives inferior to competition, and be glad you have a job from upper management. The worst land acquisitions to try to sell. Cheap inferior labor resulting in poor workmanship and quality. Cheap materials. The most dysfunctional purchasing dept. that never knows who is on first base. Too much corporate control by big egos. If you enjoy doing everyone's job to get your job done here is the place.
