    Pros

    Working from home is the one major pro.

    Cons

    Not really about the students but the bottom line.

    Hire qualified people for your administrative team, not the friend of so and so...

    Pros

    Still doing good things for some families. And Stuart is extremely personable.

    Cons

    'Bright flight' -- best talent is leaving

    Advice to Management

    You can't cut your way to profitability and letting talent walk is a surefire way to kill product innovation

    This job provides flexibility to work from home.

    Cons

    There is more micromanaging of teachers at K12 compared to the brick and mortar setting.

    Let teachers be professionals and use their own ideas to make strong, engaged, standards based classroom instruction.

    I have been working at K12 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Puts resources into it's curriculum - great virtual platform for students.
    The staff are very knowledgeable and professional.
    Good paid time off program, especially for teachers.

    Cons

    Teacher salaries are low.
    401K match is almost non-existent.
    They struggle with employee morale.
    While proper resources have been placed on curriculum, K12 has failed to put resources into other operations, i.e. effective HR and payroll systems.

    Advice to Management

    Put resources into operational systems like HR and payroll. It will pay off in the long run with happier employees.
    Do everything you can to increase pay for the teachers.
    Do everything you can to increase morale with your employees.

    Pros

    Work from home and curriculum mostly done for you.

    Cons

    Pay was terrible. Had over 200 kids working part time and about 23 different classes with 12 different calendars. Setting up the calendars were not fun.

    Pay more

    Pros

    I liked the people that I worked with, and the service provided truly helped the customers.
    There was a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

    Cons

    I never felt like the company valued me as much the families/customers I worked with.
    It sometimes felt like the bottom line was placed ahead of the best interest of the families.

    Access to new technology
    Ability to maintain multiple versions of architecture
    Great place to tuner software to keep in up and running on a daily basis

    Multiple generations of technology in place at the same time
    No investment beyond initial production rollout
