I have been working at KB Home full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Training is AMAZING. Management is supportive and has integrity. We make a LOT of money. We have amazing company parties. Sometimes these parties even include huge expensive cash prizes for the sales reps based on their performance. Sales reps can sleep in because offices open at 10am and 11am everyday. Some days are super busy, which nicely fly by. Other days are super quiet, and we use those days to get all our admin work done, meaning we have good balance so we don't get stressed out.

    Cons

Health benefits aren't great. Sales reps are required to work every Saturday and Sunday, meaning you're unable to spend time with your family on the weekends.

    Advice to Management

When sales results are low, micromanaging doesn't help. Instead, create a process for improvement by restructuring the sales process in the region itself. Micromanaging simply interrupts our workflow.

I have been working at KB Home full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Compared to other builders in town, KB doesn't spend a lot of time worrying about the guy next door. Focuses on what they do best and trying to maximize that.

    Cons

Fast pace and high expectations break everyone down at some point.

    Advice to Management

Don't sweat the small stuff with the team so often.

I have been working at KB Home full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experiences and learned so much thus far. Stability, and training through work experience. Insider look at how new home sales operates, and business/prospect presentations developed through structured selling, and personally developed educational training for real estate firms, construction, product, timelines, process. Great 401k match and allows counselors to cater presentations to establish relationships with other Real Estate Professionals, brokerages, etc.

    Cons

Every experience has assisted in my growth as an individual. I never talk badly about my current or past employers. KB Home has an amazing brand and company. Like anywhere you must pay your dues through time to become part of the business and build strong relationships.

    Advice to Management

Retain talent. Community rotation and exams taken to permit community rotation.

I worked at KB Home full-time

    Pros

Consistently busy and not just at the busy time of the month. There were great processes in place and changes were thought out and not just made for the sake of change.

    Cons

Needed to be a CPA to move up much higher and it took 5 full years to be fully vested.

    Advice to Management

They had some great managers and some not so great managers, but that is going to be the case with any company of it's size.

I worked at KB Home full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working with KBHome. The pros of this job were simple it was a great work environment,
The training on all options and processes are very well defined and the "team Spirit" is great. Everyone worked together to help each other out. Meeting with new home buyers is great, you make a difference in the clients life and share in the enjoyment of experience.

    Cons

I don't have many cons to the job. The construction schedule was tight so you could not spend a lot of time on any particular area that could be an obstacle but with the right training and a genuine concern for the home buyer it can be overcome.

    Advice to Management

The one bit of advice I would give is to be more open about expectations and what is expected. Also to have a friendly disposition. all of the upper managers I encountered were very friendly and helpful. As I said its a great company. I loved working for KBHome and would return to them in a heartbeat.
