    Cons

Homeowners are usually great but sometimes are hard to deal with.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great training program, most of the management team is understanding and helpful. Great company benefits...Health care was top notch! You have the opportunity to make a ton of money.

    Cons

You really never have a day off. You are glued to your phone dealing with issues that arise on your days off and on vacation. Absolutely no work/familylife balance. Plan on working every holiday except Christmas and Thanksgiving. Long hours! Most offices are 2-3 man shops so you are constantly having to fight for leads.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees when it comes to quality of life and more time with their loved ones. Just closing on holidays such as Easter and 4th of July would show you care about how hard your employees work. Most other builders have a better work/family balance. KB was by far the worst.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

The team members were great. They do like to have fun. Homes are beautiful.

    Cons

Extremely micro-managed. Very little time off. Expected to work on days off. High turnover with builders.

    Advice to Management

Give more freedom to do follow ups as needed instead of mechanically.

I have been working at KB Home full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Presence in the market is strong in the local area, available resources provided from management to meet company goals, the management team is experienced and willing to listen to new ideas, generally carries a supportive company culture with the management team and department leads, salary range level is average for the industry

    Cons

Growth advancement is slow, mentoring with management is non-existent, can be heavy on the corporate red tape in particular times, very slow with technological tools to produce efficiency and simplify work activities, work culture is stagnant and not progressive enough.

    Advice to Management

Leadership toward new and emerging technologies, expand the most important asset (human capital), empower them to be creative and to boldly move into these technologies.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at KB Home full-time

    Pros

Consistently busy and not just at the busy time of the month. There were great processes in place and changes were thought out and not just made for the sake of change.

    Cons

Needed to be a CPA to move up much higher and it took 5 full years to be fully vested.

    Advice to Management

They had some great managers and some not so great managers, but that is going to be the case with any company of it's size.
