I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Driven and competent employees -Innovative science -Good pay, average benefits -Tons of opportunities and growth (my group has doubled in the last 3 years and will double again within the next 2) -Influx of employees from more established companies is driving culture in the right direction -Upper management is putting more of a focus on positive culture

    Cons

-High pace of work -Some long-term/upper-level employees still have a "startup" mentality in regards to work/life balance -Benefits are getting better but could still use improvement -Not a ton of opportunities for conferences/external training

    Advice to Management

Invest more in people and culture to attract and retain high-level employees. Learn to say "no" to clients more often.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good Pay Challenging projects - interesting work and opportunity to learn and grow skill set 5% 401K match

    Cons

benefit package subpar - medical is costly, the new "maternity leave" is a joke that even HR doesn't comprehend, no tuition reimbursement, culture makes it difficult to take PTO Management not very focused on employees - either worried about keeping the untenable MFG schedule packed or keeping dev clients happy and paying than putting effort toward employee training, development and satisfaction

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending KBI is still a small startup - a multinational corporation with sites in Europe, CA, TX, CO and NC should function like one. Invest in your employees and it will pay dividends in the bottom line.

I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Pay is above other companies.

    Cons

Management is controlled by directors with no people skills. They often belittle and treat associates disrespectfully and unprofessionally. Because of the high pay, employees tolerate the behaviors. Upper management and HR knowingly allow this. Only care about the business side. Long overdue for cultural changes.

    I worked at KBI Biopharma

    Pros

Lots of money spent on too much food. Everyone just keeps overeating!

    Cons

No real concern for employees. People are crammed into cramped working spaces and parking spaces can accommodate about 2/3 of staff.

I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Competitive pay -Decent vacation time -Good opportunity

    Cons

-The facility is located in a bad area of town. -Management encourages employees to “pencil whip” documents instead of reviewing and ensuring compliance. -Workplace bullying is real issue KBI and no actions are taken against those who chose this behavior and fail to act professional. -Mgmt doesn’t promote training and does not want to invest in it, which causes a lot of issues in manuf. -Terrible work... environment- no culture exists and positive work values are not enforced. -Focus is quantity over quality. - Highly disorganized, it’s difficult to fix issues due to resistance. -The higher ups don’t care for the people and have unrealistic goals and timelines. -People are highly stressed and over worked. -Issues are ignored as mgmt would rather keep moving forward rather than fix or address issues proactively. - Lack of conference rooms and parking spaces. -Small breakroom that doesn’t have enough room- you end up eating at your desk or in your car.

    Advice to Management

Someone needs to “clean house” starting from the top down. Mgmt is driving this facility into the ground, and until they go nothing will change for the better.

I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Free breakfast once a month

    Cons

If you're ok with being so close to your supervisor that it looks like they're walking on 4 legs, you'll do just fine. Suck up to the right people and you'll never have to do any actual work. Managenent is a gaggle of over ambitious morons who get off on writing people up and taking care of their own, even if actual evidence of abuse of power is presented.

    Advice to Management

Rome wasn't built in a day, and this company won't grow unless you learn to stop taking on every possible project and pray something sticks. Also recognize when you have toxic people on the payroll.
