I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Driven and competent employees -Innovative science -Good pay, average benefits -Tons of opportunities and growth (my group has doubled in the last 3 years and will double again within the next 2) -Influx of employees from more established companies is driving culture in the right direction -Upper management is putting more of a focus on positive culture

    Cons

-High pace of work -Some long-term/upper-level employees still have a "startup" mentality in regards to work/life balance -Benefits are getting better but could still use improvement -Not a ton of opportunities for conferences/external training

    Advice to Management

Invest more in people and culture to attract and retain high-level employees. Learn to say "no" to clients more often.

I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are incredibly friendly and helpful, as well as competent and knowledgeable (for the most part). Expectations are high, but mistakes are easily forgiven and there is a lot of grace for things that come up beyond your own control. People generally get raises every year as well as annual bonus. Tons of paid time off; I have never had trouble taking any.

    Cons

There is always a lot going on. If you don't know how to say "no", it can be easy to get overwhelmed and get into a pattern or working 50 hours/week (hence some of the negative reviews on glassdoor). However, as long as you are willing to say "no" from time to time, and to establish your own work life balance, it's relatively easy to maintain 40 hour work weeks.

I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time

    Pros

    - Good Pay - Some nice people who are trying to do the right thing and work to the best of their abilities

    Cons

    - No work-life balance (numerous employees have this complaint) - Highly disorganized - High turnover - No proper/organized training (sink or swim culture) - Talented employees being under-utilized, while unskilled and sneaky employees are continuously promoted - Management does not take responsibility or hold their employees accountable - Constantly taking on projects...

    Advice to Management

Please take into consideration of why this place has a high turnover rate. KBI has so much potential and you're losing a lot of good people because you refuse to invest in your employees. Stop playing the blame game and take a serious look of why things are turning out the way they are. KBI runs on poor planning and being the fastest does not make you the best. Place more emphasis on quality instead of quantity and listen...

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at KBI Biopharma full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to advance. Management does look out for their "favorites". Company is rapidly growing so there is little chance for layoffs.

    Cons

Very poor work/life balance. Many of us are salaried and expected to work 60+ hours/week.

    Advice to Management

When a mistake occurs, please stop trying to find someone to blame. Instead, fix the problems that caused the mistake in the first place.
