    Pros

Not bad entry level position. These were the times when the firm was doing pretty well, based on news coverage it appears that company has been through some turmoil.

    Cons

Not very good benefits, They used paralegals to do most of their work. Company went through some turmoil so not sure how things stand now

    Advice to Management

Overall they tried to do a good job by offering free gym memberships, bagels on Thursdays and dinners during holidays.

    Pros

Nothing... asked to lie to clients daily. Computer system always down. They get mad if you use your pto tine.

    Cons

    Everything. Poor leadership, ghetto office.

    Advice to Management

Close the doors, save face before you lose all the law suits against you.

I worked at KEL Attorneys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful, under paid and under appreciated staff. Very nice location. Company was flourishing while in the aspire building downtown up until 2013 and then relocated and downsized to a smaller, older location off of Orange Ave.

    Cons

Matt Englett is a narcissist and is the primary managing partner of the firm. After 4 years of service to the firm, he released me without any explanation. In fact, he thanked me for the years' spent and wished me luck on my way out! Very unprofessional.

I worked at KEL Attorneys (Less than a year)

    Pros

My paycheck never actually bounced but I sure expected it to towards the end!

    Cons

The pay is not commensurate with experience.
There is no in-house IT support and the server is constantly crashing.
Very high turnover of attorney and support staff.
Does not provide staff with beverages, not even coffee or water.
Absolutely no training available for newly hired attorneys or support staff.
Terrible fax server that requires you to sort through every fax sent to the entire firm's multiple offices to locate your incoming fax.
    Poor client communication.
Attorneys and paralegals generally do not reply to client emails or return client voice messages.
Intake department earns bonuses from the number of new clients they sign up, so they offer false and/or unreasonable expectations to prospective clients just to get them to sign up.
Management does not care about the staff or the clients. It's all about whether or not the client is current on their retainers.
Absolutely no direction or guidance from management as they work out of the Orlando office and rarely visit the Tampa office.
Management preys on single mothers who are desperate for pay checks, hire them, then pile extra work and responsibilities on them because they know they need the paycheck.
There was a huge amount of fraternization going on.
The attorneys get numerous bar complaints each month.
As a result of the high turn over rate, cases that should have been resolved in no more than 6 months time, sometimes sit idle for over 2 years.
Clients are almost never granted refunds, even if their case was completely botched and mishandled.
Hourly staff is allowed and sometimes expected to work through lunch and perform other work while off the clock.
Pleadings weren't filed, deadlines were missed, hearings were missed, Then the new attorney and paralegal are expected to right all the wrongs that were done on the file.

    Advice to Management

Close all your offices! Haven't you caused enough home owners to lose their homes to foreclosure? Haven't you caused enough parents to lose custody of their children? Haven't you sent enough of your clients to jail? Haven't you missed enough hearings?

    Pros

Bagels on Tuesday. The office is located in downtown Orlando, so lunch options are varied. Gringos Locos is right down the street.

    Cons

Terrible communication; the partners like to point fingers and blame rather than accept responsibility for "operating" an organization that flirts with the line of questionable legal ethics.

The entire business model is supported by high volume, low quality work. KEL "serves" (takes advantage) of clients who are already in financial problems.

    Advice to Management

Bagels on Tuesdays don't really serve as an effective incentive to meet the ridiculous monthly quota. Also, rationing the amount of coffee that is made in the morning tends to suck the energy right out of the organization.

    Pros

The only pro is that you are not micro managed.

    Cons

The management is lax, the attorneys don't care about their clients. There is a revolving door and no training or room for advancement. I didnt meet anyone who has been with the company more than a year unless they were part of management. They are cheap and very crooked.

    Advice to Management

Have meetings, dont talk down to staff, stop the favortism, stop sharing employee personal information. Do what the clients retained you to do. Your name change means nothing with the same bad practices.

    Pros

Lots of experience and personal growth if you're willing to take on the challenge.

    Cons

This place is like the hunger games....every week around 5 people leave or get fired for no reason. Company treats employees like they are replaceable garbage and doesn't reward anyone with good work ethic. Everyone in this company was depressed working there and I don't think anyone there wasn't looking for another job. They give you so much work and expect you to meet these numbers even if it sacrifices the quality of work. And it is not because people are lazy they have thousands of clients and expect a handful of people to do all the work. And when someone quits they give the extra work for no extra money to the people that are still there. They lie to their clients and we have to be accomplice of it....and this is just scratching the surface.

    Advice to Management

    Get management book.

    Pros

Coworkers are great and lasting friendships can be made. Good pay. Great learning experience. Even if it's what NOT to do.

    Cons

Management. Makes decisions off emotions. If she doesn't like you she will find or set up a reason to fire you. Goals placed upon employees are impossible. High stress for a company that cares zero about their employees.

    Advice to Management

Think with your brain and not your heart. Emotions do not run a business, logic does. Be careful who you give your power to...your managing attorney even speaks badly about the partners never mind lower level employees.
