-Significant freedom to decide priorities and daily tasks - there was little oversight of the engineering roles, which was sometimes not helpful for someone who has trouble prioritizing the important work, and often gets sidetracked on the urgent but less important work. -Disconnect between corporate goals and what is actually happening in the plant. On a daily basis it seemed as though corporate accountants on the other side of the country were making the calls about our production schedule, creating a rushed, chaotic atmosphere on shipping days where quality or safety may be pushed aside in the name of completing the required shipment.
