I have been working at KFUPM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very polite, bright students. Admin respects faculty. Good salary, and great benefits, excellent vacation (over two months per year). Nice housing and campus. We have many employees who have worked here for over 20 years.

    Cons

Students have trouble with abstract thought. Lecturers and instructors not treated as well as professors. Not enough trees on campus. Rec center staff and management is inadequate.

    Advice to Management

Improve the rec center management and employees. Give lecturers access to some of the larger houses.

    Pros

I was an asian expat who studied and worked @ KFUPM from 2001 to 2014.

Salary on time, the only pros.

    Cons

Brown/black expats are the lowest in pay here and are treated as workhorses.

For expat students: Keep this university as your last option for higher studies.Don't spoil your future by studying here.

As a staff, don't ever dream of getting promoted here. You don't owe any respect either. You are just a slave in the eyes of the management.

You are expected to share the load of your Saudi colleagues.

Living off campus will be a nightmare for you and your family.

    Bottomline,
If you are brown skinned, avoid KFUPM and the country itself as racism is widely prevalent.
If you are white, you can expect a relatively higher salary along with respect from the employers.
If you are already working here, try to get out asap, else you will be rendered worthless in the market if you are kicked out.

    Advice to Management

The upper management gives a damn about taking advice from others.

    Please treat humans as humans.
