I have been working at KIXEYE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Due to the size of the company and culture coming from its exec team, Kixeye has afforded me the opportunity to grow into a GM role that has a significant amount of ownership over product and team.
    - The teams here at Kixeye are like a family, great people to work with, and highly skilled individuals. There is a lot of personal pride in the work that is done and a desire to consistently improve.
-Kixeye can be a fast paced environment. You will learn a lot in a very short amount of time. The challenge that comes from that is very rewarding to me personally and is one of the reasons that people stay.

    Cons

-Some people find challenge and reward in different areas and the fast pace environment can be less rewarding for some people.

I have been working at KIXEYE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing people in every department. Helpful colleagues and motivated people that love what they do. Great pay, benefits, fun perks and a growing sense of community. CEO seems to be really passionate and determined about what he's doing.

    Cons

San Francisco is a pretty expensive place to live.

    Pros

Remembering when this company was excited about its mission.

    Cons

Regardless of what they say, management doesn't understand gaming. It's brutal to see so many fans express frustration only to have those concerns ignored.

    Advice to Management

Go play the games sometime, and see what the players are saying.

I worked at KIXEYE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    • Team consisted of some of the most capable, respectful and dedicated people I've met
    • Great, open communication within the team
    • In general, managers knew how to maintain an aging product and community
    • Office politics was practically nonexistent within our team
    • When mistakes were made, they were learned from

    Cons

    • Unrelated C-level decisions led to layoffs, despite how well the team did
    • Orders from C-level led to long term trouble in exchange for short term gains
    • The developers are burdened with tech debt inherited from the launch team
    • An aspect of the product that is absolutely vital to its success was neglected
    • The workload on a couple teammates was double what it should have been

    Advice to Management

Team: If it feels like a death march, people will leave. Give your team and your players something positive and specific to look forward to.

C-level: If revenue tanks whenever you interfere, you're going to lose employees' trust.

Marketing: Stop showing up drunk and rowdy to the off-site. Are you for real?

I worked at KIXEYE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As a "legal alien" I have been very dependent on my employers to help me through the immigration process. Kixeye have been incredibly helpful and flexible with my circumstances. Their HR team and immigration attorney are incredibly proficient and helped me through the entire journey flawlessly!

5+ years as a happy dev. Great people and work ethic, also great snacks :-)

    Cheers!

    Cons

The office is in an epic location, but getting in and out of the city daily can take its toll.

I have been working at KIXEYE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great location in the heart of SF Financial district: easy commute
    - Design-first video game projects with strong player following
    - Talented, supportive team members

    Cons

Very fast-paced company culture that is good when fast-pivots are needed but takes a heavier tax on larger teams overall
